Obama spoke at Beloit last night.  I waited for a good 2 1/2 hours, and was probably 25 feet from where he was speaking.  I have my doubts about him, but I'm sure as hell voting for him.  Man, the energy in the place was electric.  Outside of like, amusement parks, I don't think I've ever seen a crowd that diverse in terms of age, class and race.  ( Read more... )

optimistic? i dunno. like i said, i'm not nuts about obama, mainly for the same reason you are. sometimes i think every single facet of his life is a calculated campaign move. but the states tend to elect the most charismatic person for president (we're fickle that way) and i really think people are looking for a change (i can't say that word without cringing). the fact that like, half of his contributions have come from grassroots movements/regular folks is something i can't definetly get behind. obama's definitely THE progressive front-runner, and he has one of the most liberal voting records in the senate.

i voted in the primaries today (in ohio, my home state) for obama...we'll see what happens, i guess.
