Visited Stanford on Friday. Signed six years of my soul to the department. Met with lots of interesting people. Ate at Tamarine. Went to a party.

Now I just need to write my dissertation. And that is what I am doing today. Between procrastinations, that is.

Returned from CMU, after an unexpected night in a hotel due to engine mechanical failure on my intended flight and a homeland security F-15 escort due to an emergency landing caused passenger heart failure on my replacement flight. I ate so much last night that I felt sick. But I have a real weakness for olive oil. I really overdid it: moussaka, cheese and leek pie, leg of lamb, baklava. A&A went mushrooming this weekend, and managed to collect three pounds of chantrelles, carefully cut from their resting places. Phate and I helped their preparation; the general consensus was for no-frills dishes. Nimesht met yesterday. More secrets revealed, more questions raised. I -- to tremendous embarassment -- found out that my last session calculation, no doubt influenced by my excessive exhaustion, on the XP steps for levels was off.
