It's snowing. Granted, it's the good kind of snow - fluffy, not too windy, too warm to stick to the roads - and we always do have one snowstorm in March, but Spring Break starts this weekend, and nobody really goes more than 500 miles away, and Texas is apparently 30 degrees and foggy this week. Damned meteorological irony!!

They change the theme on my floor every month, which includes giving us new name tags on our doors. This month is, of course, a Valentine's theme, so there's an excessive of hearts throughout the halls. Phony Tornado Alarms Reduce Readiness!
- Ignore first tornado siren
- Hear second siren, relunctantly concede to go downstair
- Stand on porch and watch the wall cloud to see if it will actually form a tornado
- Assess situation after all clear, see that you're got twenty minutes before the next twister comes through, decide that you can totally drive through torrential rain

Huh. The standard smiley was originally invented in 1982 to indicate sarcasm and thus diffuse potential conflicts on bboards. Since that's evolved into a symbol indicating the opposite of displeasure, however, we have no current sarcasm symbol.

I never do see a unit price written on these shelves...
You know, when you start thinking about it in terms of price per pound, tea is exorbitantly expensive. Take this Twinings tea I'm brewing at the moment. At 12.5 cents a bag, this is fairly reasonably priced. I just noticed that the weight is printed on the box, though, and calculated that it costs $22.55/lb.

I've pretty much been awake for the last 36 hours, so I'm sure I won't be saying anything particularly profound here, but Troy Davis was granted clemency this afternoon, two hours before his scheduled execution. The details are here and here, but, to summarize, he's a black man who's been convicted in Georgia of killing a police officer.
