I know what you mean. I am in a similar place, coming from the same origin. I like to think of it as a transitional phase - hopefully one I won't be in for much longer.

I know too many people, self included, who spend a lot of time in this place. And it's weird the way most of us accept our fate; knowing that this, too, will surely pass. But knowing doesn't make it any easier to get through the day. I haven't found that part of me I lost when I moved here...but I suppose it's only a matter of time before this place feels like home. I am guessing that's when I'll feel like me.

But I've been wrong before. Once or twice...
