As of half an hour ago, they now call me Sergeant Chen. Oh yeah. Finally got promoted.

It just rolled midnight a little bit ago. Three years ago I was at the Holiday Inn in Amherst. Getting ready to go up to MEPS for the final swearing in and shipping out to basic combat training. Once again, it's been a low key couple of weeks. Unlike working day on day off schedule as I had the last 2 years around this time, it has been half day work with 2 four day weekends back to back. I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. I don't want to go to really cold morning PT formation. I'm considering getting a ceramic heater for my room. The weather here fluctuates quite a bit depending on if the wind is from the south or north apparently. One direction it gets really cold and the other it gets really warm ( Read more... )

Almost midnight here in the central time zone. Being half a day ahead of everyone was more easy to figure out sometimes than being in this time zone where I'm an hour behind the east coast and two hours ahead of the west coast.
