We failed miserably last night. The proposed idea was to drink ourselves under the table and that did not happen. After half a bottle of rum, Bacardi, some Galliano and Baileys (sounds like a good mix, doesn't it?)  I could still remember my name and where I was.

I have come down to three choices; Thailand, Vietnam or Cambodia.
Thailand: Seems like the easy deal. Well beaten path and probably very good for a first time solo-traveler like myself. Cheap.
Vietnam: Less tourism. Halong Bay. Cheaper.
Cambodia: Little tourism. Angkor Wat. Cheapest.

Feck. Reading more about Gustav and Ike. My impression is that Cuba is.. not good.
I will have to call the Cuban embassy a couple of months from now and hear how things are going.
If a whole lot of the casas around Cuba are destroyed that fucks up my budget and I'll have to move over to Plan B.
