I have publicly admitted that I did NOT call Widmore as Daniel's father. I should have seen it, but I did not.
I will be disappointed if the bomb did create some kind of alternate timeline. The idea that "destiny cannot be avoided" is something they've beaten home repeatedly, starting with Desmond's attempts to save Charlie and being told the best he could do was delay the inevitable a while. (What if, on the other hand, Desmond was "seeing" potential deaths for Charlie because he was meant to prevent those deaths from happening so that Charlie would be around to intercept the message in the Looking Glass and let Desmond know "it's not Penny's boat...") I'm not sure I want an entire season of "we know they've done this before even if they don't."
I was sad to see Daniel die because I really thought he'd been around til the end. They'd implied as much.
