So I had a really relaxing weekend, although I had to do quite a bit of driving.  My roommate from college came down from Chicago this weekend and I had to drive to charlotte, NC to get her because it is soooo much cheaper!!  So I had to drive about six hours in the last 48 hours!  We just chilled around town and got pedicures.  Then we went to see ( Read more... )

So I started my psych ER rotation on tuesday...and it is really fun.  Fortunately we do not do shift work so our hours are from 8am until we finish in the afternoon (usually around 2pm).  I see some pretty funny people in there, like this guy yesterday who called himself Hazel (which was totally not his real name and cause some confusion when he ( Read more... )

So after days of being knocked off the internet every few seconds...literally...I finally broke down and got my own internet.  I called yesterday and they came to hook it up today so that was great!!

So after getting my new washer and dryer yesterday and doing four loads of built-up laundry, I decided to try to find a place to get my hair cut.  In the past I have found pretty good people by just driving around and stopping at a place that looked expensive.  Today I tried out the usually tactics and went to an area of town that was pretty fancy ( Read more... )

So I was so sick of not having a washer and dryer in my apt. that I went to Sears yesterday and bought a new set.
Now I can finally stop going to fellow residents houses and bum off their machines.

And for those who are keeping track...we got one new admission today and one discharge so that brings the census up to 1 patient!

So y'all (getting southern) should have done psych!  My first day started at 8:30 am and we saw one patient...we only had two adolescents this morning on the inpatient unit.  Around 10:45 my attending showed up (he is really cool) and we talked for about an hour and then we went to his office for free drug rep lunch and then he sent us home for the ( Read more... )

So tomorrow is the last day of orientation.  We have a ropes course day which should be pretty fun.  Then on Monday I start on Child and Adolescent.  That rotation is supposed to be a pretty good one to start on because it is not too tough.  Also, the summer is when most parents keep their kids out of the hospital so it should be pretty slow, but ( Read more... )

Hey, I had a great day at the lake in Northern South Carolina.  It was really hot, near 100 degrees, so I spent most of my time in the lake.  Back to orientation tomorrow.  Looking forward to the team-building ropes course on Friday.

By the way...TYLER SOLD HIS HOUSE!!!!!!   I'm so excited and he is too.  So I will be living with him by Sept. :)
