Jeremy Jones video of the weddinghowtheduckAugust 26 2008, 23:31:47 UTC
The premise is that Jeremy went around the reception and got a little video message from everyone there. Obviously Jeremy is not going to the hospital to visit Grandpa Jim, so he can do that. Jeremy is transcribing the video for ARB, but I think April could do a little transcribing too, so I don't get to have all the fun.
The basic premise is to take someone who has been seen or should have been seen (i.e. Milborough / Toronto residents) and then imagine what they would say nice to Liz and the wedding, with a good measure of snark. In this fashion, we at April's Real Blog will once again cover the generous plot holes left to us by Lynn Johnston. I am holding off on the bridal party, because I don't know how many Liz is going to drag over to see Grandpa Jim in the hospital with those 6 limos. But non-bridal party persons are fair game, i.e. Sharon Edwards Taylor I already did.
It looks like, from your comments via April today, that you are planning on closing up shop on April's Real Blog. That seems like a reasonable thing to do given that Lynn is going to go gag-a-day on strips that are only going to be remotely related to modern day April. Covering the gag-a-day reprint strips over the past year was painful, and I certainly could not imagine doing it 100% of the time.
And from a more practical standpoint, aside from regular comments from patricksrghost and dreadedcandiru2 maintaining their own personas, there doesn't seem to be anyone interested in the play-acting aspect of it anymore. I had thought that in the final month of For Better or For Worse where comments in other venues like the FOOBiverse's Journal are coming in record numbers, April's Real Blog would draw back some of our old stalwarts or draw new people in, but that has not proven to be the case. If Liz and Anthony’s wedding can’t bring them back, then gag-a-day from retro-1979 certainly will not

Depending on what Sunday has in store, I could see having future-April post--but I can't imagine I'll post every day anymore. And I can't see snarking on gag-a-day stuff from April pre-history.
So, it looks as though ending is likely. As for how to go out, I haven't decided anything specific. I am definitely open to suggestions. :)

You should be able to see Sunday's stuff tomorrow, right? I won't get it until Sunday, so maybe you could take a look at it and see how things should proceed for the final modern day strip. With plenty of advance notice, we could probably wrangle up some farewells from the modern characters and snark Lynn's proposed future for them.

Although my local paper has a "Saturday" edition of the Sunday paper, the one we have delivered to our house doesn't come until Sunday. I might be able to sneak a peek at the convenience store across the street, but sometimes their papers don't have the comics in them. I'll try, though.
