yeah, i think the decision she makes is logical from her point of view, but difficult for her as well, because she knows it'll take her away from everything she loves :( thanks for commenting!

Holy SHIT this is so good and so crazy. You got me good with this. Each new revelation unfolding is so perfect. And Minako being so creepily badass and she was hunting him, she knew from the beginning who he was! And poor Mamoru, trying to save him! Augh!

spirit! so glad you found a moment to read this, and even more glad that you liked it, since this is TOTALLY not my genre.

minako scared the fuck out of me in this one too, and i seriously want to weep for mamoru ;_; the pacing/revealing was hard for me to manage, and after reading it 986739867 times i lost all sense of whether it sounded how i wanted it to, so thank you so much for assuring me that it worked :)

I seriously want to weep for Mamoru, too. That part of it haunts me more than anything. You just give these hints of what it's like for him, and somehow that makes it even more painful, that he can't even begin to express what he's going through. And will go through, now that the only one he could have saved is gone.

And, you know, Minako thinks that she's ensured that the perfect world will come to pass with Serenity as its head, but I don't know if that's true. Would Endymion still be a benevolent ruler after his Shitennou were so brutally murdered by a comrade? And by extension, would Serenity?

at some level, i think she's so blinded by what she sees as her highest duty that she may even think she's doing mamoru a favor in the long run. sort of a "i know what's best for you - but really if it comes down to it, i don't give a flying fuck about your feelings" attitude.

her only concession to mamoru's suffering is to take herself out of the picture altogether, but that's more for usagi's sake, really. and after she's gone, poor guy won't even have a target or anything to pin his rage on. i can see this ending very, very badly, and i don't think i want to go there X_x
