Cloris Leachman is a bitch.

We (a lot of the thespians) met with her during fifth period. During the assembly and during 5th, I was starting to think she was pretty cool. After all, Young Frankenstein is one of my favorite movies. But when she was doing autographs and taking pictures, she started riffing on me about my weight and my acne. She made comments about what food I ( ( Read more... )

You know...I don't think you should be cool with any insults then if the fat comments bug you so much. If that one is off limits, it makes the whole issue unclear, and I feel that its a bit hypocritical to be insulted by the "frequency" of the comments rather than the content. Would you rather someone called you ugly ALL THE TIME? Or have them truly rip your emotions to shreds just once? I think you're sending a mixed message.
As a bitch myself, I think you're taking the whole thing too seriously. And what difference does it make if she knows you well or not? Why is the comments or a stranger worse than a close friend?
I get where you're coming from, but at the same time, I think you're being presumptuous.
Also, I hope you meant to spell retarded like that...I assume you did.

perhaps I was unclear (and, rereading my comments, I definitely was), but this was brought on by a specific problem I had been a mere 39 hours prior to receiving the comments that I did from Ms. Leachman. If you want specific details on the mentioned event, I would be happy to email them to you, but they involve people who have ljs and I wouldn't feel comfortable posting. Despite the volatile remarks made in a 'direct' manner (otherwise said, 'directed at' Ms. Leachman), clearly she will not be reading some random 17 year old's lj.

Oh no, I never considered this an attack on myself. I just wanted to understand a bit more. Lj entries can be so vague and irritating, and I hate dancing around the issue with general rants.

So thank you for the reply.

gladly. honestly and simply put, I was just really pissed off when I wrote it. I'm not proud of the way I wrote it (I personally think that swearing that frequent never belongs in writing, there are much more elegant ways to emphasize your point), and I am sorry if I offended you. Believe me, the fact that you 'adore this woman' in no way lessens my respect for you.

Also: I'm so glad that my reply didn't spawn a flame war... I'm pretty sure you'd pwn my n00b ass.

I think you're lovely, just the way you are, Jeff
(And even if that sounds like the corniest thing to say EVER... I still mean it)

And a happy happy birthday, too. I would have given you a hug in school if I had seen you. I guess it'll just have to wait.
