Organization XIII
Demyx

Affiliation: Breeder. Why? I have no idea.

Personality: As a Nobody, Demyx does not really have emotions. However, he, like most Nobodies, remembers what they're like, which results in some very convincing acting. He usually comes off as lazy and perhaps even cowardly; while in The World That Never Was, he often complained about having to do missions and would push them on the youngest Organization member whenever possible. Though he usually acts lazy and seems to dislike fighting, this doesn't mean he's bad at it. Quite the opposite; if there's no way for him to back out of a fight, he becomes a very dangerous opponent.

If someone dislikes him, he sets about disliking him back. The best example of this is his dislike for his "coworker" Larxene, though that may have been in part because of the elements they controlled (water for Demyx, electricity for Larxene). When news comes of the deaths of the Nobodies who had been sent to Castle Oblivion, Demyx shows no sign of sadness. Instead, he simply expresses happiness over not having been sent there as well. In the end, how he treats someone more or less boils down to how he is treated in return, or how the person in question simply acts. If someone is generally friendly, he will be to them, unless given a reason to not be.

One thing he puts above all else is music. He "adores" it and would much rather sit around the Castle (That Never Was) on a couch (That Never Was--) with his sitar, playing music all day, instead of doing missions. Why, like most quirks of the Organization's individuals, is a mystery, as nothing is known of Demyx's "Other", the person he was before he became a Nobody.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Without the use of his powers, Demyx is a very average person. He's not overly intelligent, nor powerful physically. He has speed and, surprisingly, some stealth; it's mentioned in 358/2 Days that Demyx is very good at recon missions. Unfortunately, his laziness often overshadows any strengths he might have.

It's never mentioned that Nobodies have to eat, however it's most likely that with Demyx's memories of his Other, he keeps the ability to do basic things like cooking, so it's unlikely he'll starve while stuck without the ability to portal to the nearest restaurant or store. He seems very unlikely to be the outdoors type, and would no doubt have some difficulty (and a lot of whining to do about) camping while traveling.

Samples
(Please note that both samples must take place in Route_29’s setting.)

First Person Sample:
...the heck was that lady on about? I don't even have a mother!

[Suddenly, a voice. Sounds like a young man, the kind of guy you'd have expected to be picked on in high school. There's a lot of rustling, too; he's turned the pokégear on by accident while looking through the backpack he'd been given with the thing still in his hand. There's a "Diiii?" from nearby, as it seems his pokémon is out of its ball by now as well.]

Yeah, you can, uh, go now, little guy. I'm sure your owner's looking for you.

[Apparently there's nothing interesting in the backpack, because it gets dropped, the gear sitting on top of the bag. His voice is quieter now thanks to the distance.]

Not exactly where I expected to end up after all that... Guess I should head back anyway.

[There's silence. A good minute or two of it.]

...ooookaaaaaay, why isn't this working?

Third Person Sample:
By the second day out of town, Demyx was already unhappy. Well, not really, as he couldn't be happy or unhappy, but he was pretty sure he'd be miserable if he could feel properly. He didn't have his sitar or his powers, and his coat absolutely sucked for traveling like this. At least his pokeyman thing was friendly enough and kept him from having to fight all the other pokeyman things that kept attacking at random. Still, what he would give to be able to just take the corridors to the next town! Or even back to Never Was!

"Maaaaaaan..." the Nobody kicked at a pebble on the ground, frowning at the path in front of him and his Totodile. He was getting really tired of all this tall grass. After a moment, he looked down at his companion, mouth tugging into a pout. "You sure you can't shoot some water, little dude? That machine said you were a water type!" He missed messing around with his powers, darnit. The Totodile looked up at him, clearly unimpressed by the pouting the Nobody was doing. "Fine, jeez. It was just a question."

Silence took over the two of them again as they entered another stretch of tall grass. Demyx wondered whether the next city would have a music store; the lack of his sitar was unnerving and left him feeling emptier than normal. At least this world had music playing in the "background". It was odd, but not something he could really complain about. Except maybe for the repetitiveness; that was just a little boring. So much could be done with the tunes he'd heard so far!

He wasn't sure what the money he'd been given by "mom" would even buy him, but he would like to at least see if there were any instruments he could save up for, or commission, or something. How he'd get more money he wasn't too sure on, however. He'd heard that battling other trainers would result in cash rewards for the winners... not to mention the gym leaders. But he didn't want to battle. It wasn't necessary, and quite frankly, if he had to choose between training and traveling, he'd choose the latter, even if it wasn't actually him doing the training.

Demyx heard a Pidgey's cry up ahead and groaned, his Totodile echoing the noise. Another fight...?
