My problem with R/L was always because that's what the H/Hers shipped (before Luna) in order to get Ron out of Harry and Hermione's way. So to me it was always a ship of convenience that reminded me of H/H. I cringed when I first read it in HBP, but by the end, it was the best. JKR wrote it perfectly, and Lavender was just bitchy enough to make it obvious that Hermione wanted Ron.

If you'd told me three weeks ago that Ron and Lavender would get together and I'd like it, I would have thought you were nuts. But you know what, it was perfect. It was exactly right. It was absolutely part of the story's arc - it was part of Ron's maturing process. Even though I'd snorted at the idea 87 million times, once JKR penned it, it simply was. Because it was canon.

Yup. It was the H/Hr 'dump ship' pre-OotP. I'd never in a million years have thought it would be canon, but the way JKR wrote it is why it works. JKR has a way of swaying me ;-).

Word. It seems SO obvious now; of course Ron needed a relationship before Hermione. He needed to realize he didn't just want something physical. But of course, before HBP I wouldn't have thought of any of this :P

Besides, R/L has been totally justified because of "Won Won". What a gift ;)

I'm really curious - has there been anything in canon yet that you don't like? Personally, I couldn't ever say that I disliked a single thing, from SS to HBP, until the Remus/Tonks action. Since it's canon, I'm trying my darndest to like it, but the Remus/Sirius shipper in me is very stubborn. ;)

Is anything like that for you? Or if you do like everything, was there anything you had to warm up to initially?
