Quick, very rare RL update: Survived a scare on campus the other day--we had reports that a man w/ a rifle (later discovered to be fake) was on campus, and it seriously had me (and others) freaked out for those few hours. Lytton: I believe I now know exactly how you felt

Oh. My. Goodness. Can't form any coherent thought after reading. Creepy, insane, sadistic, stalker, manipulative Kunzite. He gave me the shivers but I still love him. *sighs*

Please please please don't take too long to deliver the next chapter. Who wants Rei dead so badly? Is it one of the girls? Why the cruelty? Oh my update update update!

And the blonde agent is Jadeite, right?

Ahhh, so excited that you liked it! And I'm with you ... still like creepy Kunzite, even though he scares me. ^_~

And yup, the blonde is Jadeite. He might get more of a role later on ... the reason why he's minimal here is because I actually just snatched him up from a different fic and inserted in here, since I needed a FBI agent (and didn't want to create another one). But I don't want people to later become confused between these two versions.

It's Mamoru and Usagi, isn't it? When is the next part coming out? Will Rei murder them? I think she will. And what about Kunzite? Will you give us some backstory on what made him that way? All these questions mean one thing and one thing only:

Thanks Lytton, I knew you'd be able to relate. We had like three different police forces down on campus that day, with a helicopter circling overhead. Turned out it was just REALLY POOR judgment on the guy's part, and lack of recognition from the witness (that it wasn't a real rifle).

Oh boy, you're making me think of things I should have already thought of (i.e. Kunzite's backstory). I honestly haven't written any of the next installment yet, and although I had a vague outline in my head, it might be scrapped = back to drawing board.

Ok on to the story ...

I loved it! I loved every part of it, there isn't any little bits that I liked best. The entire thing was just so very well written. I can't wait for the next part. I need to know what Rei will do next and I need to know more about Kunzite. I have this burning need to know who betrayed her as well, at least I think I do. After reading Lytton's comment now I'm not so sure. I have this sinking suspicion that she might be right >.>

Thank you for the concern! I have to admit I was pretty freaked out and got off campus as soon as I could. And yes, thankfully it was all a misunderstanding.

I'm intrigued that everyone assumes Malachite is telling the truth. Why? He could just as easily be lying and want her to kill these people, then reveal after she's done that who really wants her dead and have her suffer EVEN MORE. :P

I'm looking forward to seeing what Rei does. I don't want her to succumb to him, I want her to triumph. Because I really think it's about time for her to start fighting back, instead of screaming and leaping at shadows. That's not Rei.

Agreed, although I decided against having her come out fighting right off the bat, especially after something so traumatic. I was hoping to portray that these were autonomic reactions and THEN her personality begins to take over and then yearns to fight back. Because as strong and willful as Rei is, I don't think she's invulnerable to those instinctive reactions.

I may have to PM you and pick your brain, if you don't mind ... ^_^

Oh, I agree. I was just a bit worried that you would still have her like this next time but I'm glad that you have a plan to bring her fighting spirit back.

Thank you for pointing this out because this depiction does not sit well with me (and I probably did not do a good enough job conveying the proper mood). I wanted to show a progression, that she's scared but that she's gradually getting a better grip on things. *makes mental note to do this better in future*

Malachite is just so strong, though. Cunning, manipulative, and dark. It's so lopsided against her--trauma + 'betrayal' + Malachite. That said, if anyone can overcome it all, it would be Rei! ^^
