I've always wondered if you could spin the wrapped up worm into thread. Seriously, it's one of the many diseases completely preventable with a relatively small investment in public health infrastructure.

Indeed, water purification technology/ability is probably the single greatest gift the US give to the third world these days.

As to the tread, I have no clue.
