Chapter 5 - Starting With A Lick

That feeling when someone wished they could just disappear like a black hole sucked them in...was exactly what Jun felt. He was rooted to the spot, and his mouth hanged open as well as Ohno's. Jun didn't know how long they stayed there gawking at each other.

Ohno's face look like he was confused yet horrified. Jun just wished he would say something.

"Aren't you guys coming in?" Nishikido said, breaking the tension between them.

"A-ah! Yeah, o-of course," Jun said, speaking a little louder than normal.

Jun quickly walked into the Charms classroom and plopped down on the closest seat available. Only then did he realized that all the other seats were taken except the empty one next to him. Thus, the only seat Ohno could sit in.

'Damn it!' Jun cursed in his head. But Ohno already took his seat.

Jun dared to steal a side-glance at Ohno, but Jun quickly wished he didn't. Ohno was still gawking at him as if they still weren't finished with their staring contest earlier. Professor Yamamoto started class, and Jun did his best to pay attention, but all he could see from the corner of his eye was Ohno staring right back.

Professor Yamamoto ordered the class to do exercise on their own, and Jun took this moment to confront Ohno.

"Close your mouth already," Jun mumbled to Ohno, as he practiced his 'Locomotor' spell.

Ohno only relaxed his jaw, but his mouth was still slightly open. And his eyes were still wide with shock. Jun tried not to get distracted, but he glanced at Ohno again. In doing so, Jun accidentally ram his levitated box into poor Nishikido's head.

"Stop staring at me like that," Jun hissed at Ohno.

Throughout the class, it was an unbearable nightmare for Jun. Ohno never took his eyes off of him with those wide completely shocked looking eyes. His mouth remained partially open until class was finally over.

"What?!" Jun yelled when they walked out of the classroom.

"You're...in love...with..." Ohno quickly looked around them if anyone was listening. "...you're in love with Sho?"

"....yes," Jun mumbled, feeling his face burning.

"Seriously?!" Ohno blurted out loud. Jun tried to shush him. "You mean like...brotherly-love or...love-love."

"Look I admire Sho a lot, okay," Jun said, trying to end the embarrassing conversation.

"Wait a minute. We can talk about this," Ohno said, but Jun was power-walking away.

"There's nothing to talk about," Jun pouted.

"I understand your feelings!"

Jun stopped dead in his tracks, causing Ohno to bump into him. Jun felt his heart throbbing again, but it was different. With Sho, he was giddy and fluttering inside. But with Ohno, it was a warm feeling. Like a friend being considerate.

"What do you mean?" Jun asked, turning around to find a smiling Ohno.

"I understand," Ohno nodded. "You have nothing to be ashamed of for...stepping out of the closet."

"Ohno," Jun sighed.

"A long time ago, Nino told me what he was," Ohno nodded. "It really surprised me that time too. For a moment, I thought he 'loved' me, but he explained to me that I'm just his friend. But I respect him for being true to his feelings."

Ohno placed his hand on Jun's shoulder. Jun suddenly felt a warmth spreading from his touch, like a father reassuring his child. He smiled with soft lips.

"If there's something you want to tell me, I'll be here to listen," Ohno nodded. "I won't tell Sho. It's up to you if you want to tell the others."

Jun smiled back.

"Thank God..." Jun said. "For a moment...I thought you would be angry or be negative towards me."

"I'd never hate you, Matsujun," Ohno said. "I'll try to help you."

"Help me?" Jun said, tilting his head. "How?"

"I'll help you confess to Sho."

"NO!" Jun shouted. Bystanders stared at Jun, but Ohno and Jun quickly walked away from earshot. "No! I can't do that."

"Why not? Nino has confessed plenty of times before," Ohno said.

"Eh?!"

"Well, I think he only confesses to girls, so I don't know any guys he confessed," Ohno said, rubbing his chin. Then, his expression changed into a serious look. "But...I do remember seeing you two...kissing."

Jun gulped. How could he forget? Back in their first year, Jun was kissed by Nino, and Ohno spotted them. Of course, Jun had no idea why Nino kissed him, and it stunned him beyond words. But just thinking about it, Jun could remember the force Nino used on his lips. He cursed himself for remembering them being soft...

"You don't think Nino has a thing for you," Ohno asked, widening his eyes again.

"No!" Jun said, instantly. "He...he just likes to play with people. Plus at that time, I was dressed as a girl. Remember?"

Ohno nodded slowly as if he looked relieved.

"Well, we'll have to see," Ohno mumbled.

"What do you mean?"

"We have Potions next."

"So?"

"With Slytherins."

'Shit,' Jun cursed.

The dungeons were just as dark as Jun remembered last year. Dreary and damp. Jun wondered how the Slytherins could have their common rooms down here. The class for the Second Years are only Gryffindors and Slytherins since the Ravenclaws are now paired with Hufflepuffs.

However, Jun wished that Sho would be in his class again. Instead, Gryffindors will have to face even more cold harassment now that another house was removed. Professor Naruse Ryo always favored his house.

Speaking of which...

"Where is Naruse?" Jun asked Ohno, who just shrugged.

It was already a good ten minutes when the bell rang and the professor was still no where in the room. The students didn't seem to mind starting class late, except the Slytherins. Nino sat with his house mates as usual. Yamashita sat next to him with a bored look on his face.

Then, the door slammed opened.

"Turn to page thirty and start your assignment," Naruse said with haste. "When I come back, I except perfect potions."

He didn't even look at the students as he waved his wand and instructions appeared on the blackboard. Jun noticed a slight frown on his face as if he was frustrated on another matter than class. Naruse started searching through his desk for papers. He flicked his bangs out of his eyes, and a few girls found this attractive and they giggled behind their hands. But Naruse was oblivious to their noise.

Finally, he got the things he needed, walked out of the class, and slammed the door.

"What was that all about?" Ohno said, looking annoyed at his uncle. "Thinking he's more important than us."

Jun couldn't help but smirk. All the Gryffindors looked happy with Naruse's absence while the Slytherins looked sour. Nino, however, didn't seem to care and started making his potion.

"Do you know why Naruse is like that?" Jun asked Ohno.

"How should I know," Ohno replied. "We never talk in school except when I was in the hospital wing. It's not like we're close."

"But..." Jun mumbled, "he looked like he was worried about something."

"Not him. More likely he's irritated or angry at something. He never worries over something because he always plans everything," Ohno said, rolling his eyes.

"Do you hate him?" Jun asked, being curious. Ohno thought for a long time.

"Truthfully, I don't hate him," Ohno answered. "There are times when he's alright. That's why all the girls here are crazy about him. But I wish he shows more feelings."

Jun had never thought of Naruse much, but sitting next to Ohno and talking about him made Jun realized that Naruse Ryo is a really mysterious person. Jun had always pictured Naruse Ryo as a tough and unfair teacher. However, Jun remembered the time when Ohno was unconscious for two weeks. And when he finally woke up, Jun spotted Naruse looking so relieved. It made Jun wonder what Naruse was really like outside of school...

At that moment, the door slammed open and Naruse was back in the room. He spotted Ohno's potion right away.

"Your potion is off color, Ohno," Naruse said, in his low voice. "Fifty points from Gryffindor. And why are you cutting sheep skin? It's cow skin that's suppose to be for this potion. Another fifty points."

"But the cupboard ran out of-" Ohno tried to defend himself.

"Are you talking back to me?" Naruse glared back. "Another fifty points. Go any further and we'll make another detention."

Ohno remained silent as Naruse walked around the class to check their potions. Jun whispered to Ohno.

"It must be that time of month for him," Jun snickered. Ohno tried to suppress his laughter as well.

When class was finally over, Jun and Ohno headed off towards the Great Hall for a quick bite of lunch. On the way, Jun spotted Nino with a girl in each arm and a trail of girls following him.

"He's having no problem with the competition," Ohno chuckled. Jun couldn't help himself but glare at Nino.

"We should help Sho. There's no way he can beat Nino at this rate."

"But...are you okay with that?" Ohno asked. "Are you okay with Sho picking up chicks? I mean, what about your feelings?"

Jun bit his lip. He never thought of that...

"Speak of the devil. Here he comes now," Ohno said.

Jun turned around and felt his knees turn to jelly. Sho, followed by Aiba, headed straight toward them. Sho waved at them with a huge smile that made Jun's butterflies in his stomach flutter yet again. It was like nothing else matter but that one smile.

Then, Jun noticed that Sho was carrying a parchment scroll in his hand.

"Yo, Ohno," Sho greeted. "Hey, Jun."

'He called me by my first name!'

"Hey," Jun managed to speak.

"I'm glad I ran into you guys. I wanted to ask you..." Sho handed the parchment scroll to Ohno, " to join me."

Ohno opened the scroll as Jun peered over his shoulder.

"Dueling Club?" Jun read.

"This will be the perfect time for me to pick up girls," Sho said, excited. "I'll participate in the club, show off a few tricks, and chicks will fall for me."

"I'm joining too," Aiba smiled. "I always wanted to practice my new spells I experimented."

"This sounds cool," Ohno said, reading the announcement. " 'The Dueling Club will teach students spells in use of combat for protection. Meetings are held every Saturday night at the Great Hall. All years are welcome to join. Supervised by Professor Miura Tomokazu and....Professor Naruse Ryo.' "

"Yeah, Naruse will be there," Sho frowned. "But who cares. He's just a Potions teacher."

"No," Ohno said, darkly. "He's skilled with his wand."

No one replied as they believe in Ohno's word. Finally, Sho shrugged.

"Well, I'll still use this time to get some girls," Sho smirked. "I don't think Nino stands a chance."

"You seem really into this," Jun spoke, slightly annoyed. "I wouldn't think you take Nino so seriously."

"I didn't think I would either," Sho agreed. "I just want to show him who he's messing with. Someone's gotta knock some sense into him."

"Knock what sense into me?" Someone spoke.

Nino was behind them always surprising them with his sudden entrance again. The girls were gone, but Jun still felt uncomfortable again in his presence. Nino was only focusing on Sho, who just smirked back.

"I think you are being childish for too long," Sho confessed. "Your pranks aren't exactly funny but for you."

"And I don't see what's wrong with that," Nino fired back while keeping his cool. "What do you have against me, Sho? I'm just a poor lonely boy without someone to lean my head on." He pouted.

"I don't think I have anything against you...for now," Sho smiled coldly. "How would you like to join the Dueling Club this Saturday."

"I'd be delighted," Nino also smiled back coldly.

Jun was alone in the library while working on his new assignment for Transfiguration. Aiba was with him earlier, but he said he quickly had to use the restroom. Apparently, Aiba tested his new barfing tablets on himself, and the effects were kicking in. Idiot.

The others were supposed to meet them in the library as usual, but Ohno had to go to his UtaMahou class since he's a year ahead of them. Sho was probably still trying to find ways to pick up girls. And Nino is no where to be found.

Or so Jun thought.

Someone slammed their books on the table right in front of Jun. "Hi."

"Oh!" Jun gasped. Nino sat across from him, tucking his hands under his chin.

"What are you doing?" Nino asked, being playful.

"Uh...doing my homework."

"How boring," Nino sighed.

Jun didn't reply. There was a long silence between them, and Jun wished that Aiba would hurry up and come back. He didn't want to be left alone with Nino, and the worst part was that they were in a private area.

It was like a box. The table was in the center between two book shelves. One side was a wall with a window showing the Quidditch field in the distance. So there was only one way to enter their private study area where the boys normally meet.

Jun kept his head down, writing on his parchment paper. Of course with Nino staring at him, Jun lost his concentration and he accidentally slipped his hand and cut his finger on the edge of the paper.

"Aahh!" Jun winced. A single blood drop appeared on his middle finger.

"A paper cut? Let me see," Nino said, coming around the table. He sat next to Jun and quickly grabbed his hand without asking.

"Hey, wait..." Jun said, but his voice dwindled.

Nino brought Jun's hand closer to his face to examine it. Jun could feel his face flushing again as he felt Nino's breath on his hand. Then, Nino closed his eyes and licked the blood off of Jun's wound.

Jun gasped, but his hand was held tightly in Nino's grip. Nino slowly opened his eyes and stared back at Jun with an unbelievable look of lust in his eyes.

Before Jun could stop him, Nino pulled Jun and kissed him. Jun tried to pull away, but Nino held the back of his head from pulling away. Jun felt Nino's tongue exploring inside his mouth to his horror. Jun didn't like it and tried to push Nino's tongue out with his own, but that only anticipated Nino to push back. Realizing what Jun was doing, he tried again to turn his head away.

Finally, he shoved Nino away, glaring at him in pure horror and panting for running out of breath. Nino, also breathing heavily, didn't seem to mind. His eyes just showed a dull expression until he smirked. Jun gulped.

"What was that for?" Jun mumbled.

Nino was about to say something, but he was interrupted by hurrying footsteps. Aiba dashed towards their table, sweating bullets with fear in his eyes.

"You guys better come quickly," Aiba panted.

"Aiba, what happened? I thought you were barfing," Jun asked. Nino laughed at this.

"I'm fine now-"

"Barfing! Are you serious?" Nino continued to laughed.

"Shut up! Listen to me. Sho's in trouble!" Aiba yelled at them. This caused Nino to shut his mouth and Jun stood up.

"What?"

"Come on!" Aiba urged.

Jun and Nino followed Aiba and they raced down the stairs until Jun could hear raised voices. Finally, they arrived at a corridor and Jun saw a crowd gathered around. Jun ran towards the crowd and to his shock, he found Sho in the center of the group.

Throwing punches at Yamashita Tomohisa.
