It is very high school. Especially since it is actually, (in my case anyway) many of the same people! And it's easy to get sucked into that mentality. I don't take the events they have too personally because I figure they didn't invite me because I live so far away.

I went through a phase where I friended all of the high school people I could think of. And then I deleted them - well, most of them, because I wasn't really friends with them in high school for a REASON. ;)

As for events - that has always been an "ism" for me - I am permanently feeling left out, which my Mother will tell you is all my own fault. ;) No matter if I have completely overbooked myself - I will still want to squeeze in one more thing. lol

You're right Seth - it's all you. I can hear what you are thinking and how you don't like me and don't want me around. Harumph. ;)

Seriously - don't get one. I have contemplated getting rid of mine several times - but there actually ARE people who live in other parts of the country that I wouldn't be able to stay in touch with as well without it, which is what keeps me on.

Oh yes - it's the ultimate soapbox, isn't it? I know people who post their opinions, then delete anyone who responds negatively to it, so it looks like everyone agrees with them. *sigh*

Yup. Yup yup yup. Hate Facebook. Didn't like the experience AT ALL. Thus why I deleted mine.

I know - you got out before you could get hooked - plus - you aren't nearly the "people person" I am, so I think you spend much less time wondering what other people are thinking about. ;) Smart of you, by the way. ;)
