Just what I wanted for Xmas - another bloody earthquake!

The 5.8 hit while I was at work (two storey building) and we tidied up and got out while the next smaller one hit (5.3), rode out the next two (4.6, 4.2) in the car - trying to drive an unfamiliar automatic when used to a manual is almost more nervewracking than the earthquakes! - and at the boss' place for post-eq / pre-xmas drinks when the next ( Read more... )

Bloody hell. Glad you're okay, but yeah, not what you need to be dealing with. What a pointless comment! Time to move?

We've bought land further inland - just waiting for insurance to tell us if the current house is a write-off or repairable. If write-off, we'll build fresh on the new land. If repairable - well, in all honestly after todays swarm, I don't think a 'repair' is going to happen.

The local earthquake drum shows it was all quiet today until just short of 2pm.
