If I could, I would prohibit all newspapers from referring to opponents of the Likkud's "Greater Israel" program as "anti-Israel" and to supporters as "pro-Israel". Most of the public intellectuals being referred to as "anti-Israel" are putting forward a program supported by Alan Dershowitz, Simon Peres, Teddy Kollek, and around 25-32% of the Israeli electorate--Israel should eventually give back every square inch of territory won in the 1967 war (except possibly East Jerusalem, which should still allow arab residents), and should do so with the very minimum of violence and resistance necessary. This is not an "anti-israeli" position; many avowed enthusiastic Zionists take this position.
Calling anti-colonialism an "anti-Israeli" position is like calling people who opposed keeping the US panama canal zone by force "anti-American" . Well, OK, some of the press did that as well, but they were wrong then as well.
