When I had the anesthesia I only had it on one side, and until it wore off I kept checking my mouth to make sure I wasn't drooling hahahahaha (I wasn't, but I was so afraid I would and I wouldn't notice! I feel like that's the kind of thing that happens in the movies)

Wuss. I don't get anesthesia at all when I go to the dentist, because the pain from the shots themselves has my jaw hurting for hours after the numbness wears off.

When I got 5 cavities filled without insurance 3 years ago, it was about $1500-2000.

Is this a bad time to mention that I have never had a cavity and unlikely will ever have a cavity because I had my teeth sealed when I was about 13? Look into that. Painless and keeps teeth mostly cavity free (with proper care).

I had that done apparently. I guess things are moot when you grind your teeth at night. Need to shell out $150 for a night guard. Fun times!

the looks the servers give you are brilliant, as you are standing there with a numb face trying not to drool ordering a decaf latte.

Ooh. I've never had any dental problems besides gingivitis, but I've watched enough dental work to cringe a bit in empathy.
