So here’s what I’m watching in the fall anime season:

Kindaichi Case Files Season 2 is, so far, very good. I ended up enjoying the first season quite a bit more than I initially thought. I still don’t like the cast nearly as much as the cast of Detective Conan, but dang, the cases in Kindaichi are fantastic. They’re almost always multi-episode

I really enjoyed the Bishamon arc of Noragami, but agree about Hiyori's role so farthis season.

K; return of Kings is definitely more comprehensible and accessible than the first season, but I'm having some difficulty with it because I don't care for the Green Clan at all or find them interesting, and don't particularly care about Fushimi. The animation has been pretty awful regarding its treatment of Seri, too. Not just with the fanservice season 1 was pretty fanservicey with both her and Neko, too, but no where near this level) and there have been a couple times where I was just staring in horror and wondering WTF the animators were thinking.

I agree about Seri (I feel like Neko hasn't been as fanservicey this season though). That clip in the first episode was so ridiculous and over the top that I had trouble believing any of the animators who worked on that scene have ever been near a real woman. But I feel like they shove scenes like that in there because otherwise it's just a show full of hot dudes love-hating each other and it would turn away male viewers. The official art looks like it's for a straight-up BL series. But honestly I can't imagine the show has a huge male following, so I don't know what they're thinking either.

There's also the butt shot in the OP (and the latest ep) then the bit where she and Yata were knocked down and she had no leg bones and her torso was about 6 feet long and it was just "..."

Neko is naked less,but they're doing a lot of pant and cleavage shots.

I don't agree the fan service seems a ploy to get more male viewers, but I...can't imagine there have ever been many.

Haha, yeah, that crotch shot when she was knocked down was hilariously awful. It reminded me of the terrible artwork in those Zenescope comics (this is one of the funniest examples). The sad part is that, judging from how some of the other female characters are drawn, they DO know how to draw women. They just willfully choose to completely ignore all knowledge of human anatomy when they draw Seri. *sigh*
