-smile a lot.
-talk to everyone about anything. don't worry if the conversation is totally inane.
-talk to your friends from your old life; this is good at the beginning of college so you remember who you are and that you're a cool person who is capable of making friends.
-don a nun habit. everyone likes nuns.
-remember that by the end of the year you will probably think college is the best thing that's ever happened to you.
-remember that you don't need a zillion friends; just a few good ones are just fine.
