No name dude is an a-hole; I'm sure he knew/knows exactly what he's doing and who the hell doesn't wear a wedding ring? There's generally only one reason for that and it's not gold allergies.

Your awesomeness must intimidate your local men-folk. That is the only conclusion I can think of.

And what does your lunch friend think of this behavior?

I haven't told her...the tricky thing is that since he's a big boss at work, I don't need to go around telling people that he's married because that'll make him look bad, which will be dangerous for me. So instead I have to just let it peter out and hope the people who know about "us" forget.

Ugh, that was my least favorite part about dating. I got to where I couldn't trust anything that guys were telling me in regards to their current marital status. I almost questioned David's status when we started dating, despite knowing him for like 7 years prior. My favorite (which I've probably already shared with you) was the guy who said he was separated but I found out a day or two after our date that his wife was expecting, and he had just had another baby a year prior who was not his wife's baby but she was apparently raising the child...and he had gotten married 8 years before when his wife was like 15 or something. It was crazy drama that even if he truly was separated I don't think I would have wanted to get involved with someone like that.

I got lucky with David for sure. Not much drama there.

Totally frustrating! All you can do is stay positive and keep looking, though. AND your list totally shows positive progress. Check it out:
1. That's plenty of dudes. You're definitely "putting yourself out there" and trying your best to find love. GOOD JOB. It's not easy.
2. As you moved down the list, you invested less and less time in each unavailable dude.
3. The Joe situation was pretty devastating. But tall dude is merely annoying, and doesn't even get a name. Progress!

4. (unrelated) Hair sniffing is not appropriate workplace behavior.
