Stupid Art Fair.
My feet have died, fallen off, and are currently rotting somewhere along State Street.
Nine and a half hours in the store today, with no break. And I promised Tony a possible 12-hour shift next Saturday for Maxwell.
I did sell a $160 hat today, though. That was pretty sweet. -

Anyone who works around Peace Park sees their share of crazies being arrested, that's par for the course. I've seen three arrests in the past couple weeks. ( Today was something special, though. ) -

A guy came into the store today, couldn't have been more than 5'6". His head didn't look too big either, but apparently he'd had trouble buying hats. He said that last month he'd been to a hat shop in Illinois, stayed there for an hour or more and apparently the salesman was near tears by the end of it because he couldn't fit the guy with a hat ( Read more... ) -

Last Christmas, my mother got a copy of Oliver Sacks' Musicophilia for my father and I, and vise versa (I kept one copy, my parents kept the other). Mom just finished the book recently, and this prompted a discussion about mental music. I was kind of shocked when she said she never has music in her head unless she's actively thinking about it. I've got MSNBC on, and they did a breaking news story about some soldier who shot himself at the Tel Aviv airport while the French president was there.
...is it really necessary to mention every few minutes that two female soldiers fainted at the sound of the shot? Seems unlikely, and even if it is true... seriously.
