I have never understood old men sending young men to die in their battles. I love that in your world this doesn't happen. I would love to know more about your world, and the uploading of oneself into space bodies. Cool concept.

This is a cool idea - once physical limitations are out of the way it makes sense to me that the old would go to war instead of the young. After the recent disaster in Japan they had a lot of elderly or middle-aged people volunteering to help with the cleanup. Radiation wasn't going to be a problem for them.

From what I know of Japanese culture there is a strong sense that you are a part of a whole. I can imagine in the future where form is arbitrary, that the differences between us become smaller. That those who have had so much would be willing to give up what small time they have left to save others.

Love the concept of an old age requirement to enlist, as the young are too precious to waste on war. Lots of great poignancies here. This is an exciting thrill ride, a moment of victory.
