I just got off the phone with Paul's mom.  We talked about work.  About Paul's big heart.  She told me she wanted me back in California; I told her I wanted to be back in California.

I love the Po family.  I want to be a part of it.  And I will.  Paul and I both have an understanding that I will :)  I am so lucky!

An update:

Things are kind of hard for me right now:

The negatives:  I got chased and cursed out by a homeless man when I was alone on a street at 6 am.  I had to run to a subway station and jump on a train.  One of the youth at work almost physically attacked me when I was alone with him.  He managed to slam me with a door and when I got my balance ( Read more... )

The worst part about my job:     hearing my mom tell me she is scared she will get a call from the morgue. 

I am in love with the people I live with.   Tasteless humor, games of pretend and imaginations that have completely conquered us in the wee hours of the night make our apartment truly unique.  We are all entertained by the strangest things and censor nothing.  It's home ( Read more... )

I got a promotion :)

I am being personally trained by the head huncho.  I will now be the case manager  (!!) for all the youth.  I will be assessing the youth's emotional/psychological state, interviewing each boy and his family, planning treaments for the youth with a psychologist, keep track of all the information of each boy...and I will be the ( Read more... )

Some of the kids I work with really don't see a lot of white people....so their comments about my appearance are always interesting.  Most recently I got:

"Damn, you all get to have such interesting eyes.  Dang."

Also, I look like any celebrity who is white.  Doesn't matter what hair color.
