So, big this year was Cartoon Network's "Adventure Time". Big, awful, huge. Lots of push from the network, severe underestimation by CC of the popularity. So it goes....

The "light" of the Island is a natural (or supernatural) force that grants the Protector certain reality-affecting powers. Someone found the Island and became the first Protector.
