Shameless begging post

I don't think there's a cure for autism. Let me just make that clear right now. I think, no matter how much research is put into it, there will never be a 'cure' found. Nor am I sure that there should be one, but that's a whole different post ( Read more... )

I love that song and now there's more of a connection when I hear it. I watched. Now I have to get ready for a massage at 9:30.

I love that song too. Oddly enough, I had been thinking about it in terms of my life and Braden's with autism, so it was sort of weird to find out about the video.
Thank you! Hope the massage goes well!

Thanks. :) Massage went very well. Now I want one. I think I say that after every massage.

What a delicious video! Thanks for pointing to it. (It's been forever since I had reason to use my autism icon - I miss those guys!)

Thanks for clicking the link! :)

I was really happy they showed pictures of smiling, laughing kids. So many people think that just because someone is autistic, then they're unhappy.

Exactly! One of my students over here just loves to lie on the grass and spin the little daisy weeds between her finger and thumb. Right now spring has started to show up a little bit and those little white weed-flowers are EVERYWHERE. It makes me smile to think of how much she is enjoying herself. Autism is a LOT more life and joy than the drama-of-the-week TV movies would have the average person think (although those kinds of movies do get the harder parts right, hmmm?).

Thanks for saying that, I wish more people would be aware of that fact! My son is a happy kid 90% of the time and a real little ray of sunshine! :-)

That's the first time I heard that song. Wow. It was powerful when combined with the video images. That mixed with being very emotional today.... the front of my shirt is wet w/ tears. heh. It was moving. It made me think of Telana's special needs and how alienated the kids tend to feel. Thanks for the link.

Thanks for clicking it!

Yeah, I cry every time I hear the song now, thanks to the video. Sigh. There are some songs I can't sing to because they're emotional to me, and now this is one of them.
