Developed a social consciousness a few years back and the growing actual inequality of our society (vs the theoretical equality promised but not delivered via our laws) is disturbing to me.
I am for socialized medicine, restrictions on ALL corporations, etc. People friendly laws, not corporation and wealthy (or wannabe wealthy) friendly laws. :)

I do not understand anyone who talks about 'free enterprise' or 'the market' or 'privatization' helping society. Corporations and the market are just made up of people, and without regulations on behavior, you end up with a modified 'lord of the flies' situation. Look what unregulated free enterprise gave us 75 or so years ago....sweatshops, child labor and working class tenements in every city. Just a tad over 150 years ago, it gave us slavery as it was more economical (before Eli Whitney) to use humans than machines to pick cotton...and slaves were cheaper than employees
