I miss her icons.They weren't as lush and bright as some other graphic makers, but they were feminine, and really sweet. If I could look at the journal of any deleted graphics maker it would be laceribbon. She had her own style. Whereas there were a few makers who had a style similar to edensflowers - that was partly why the whole coffeecup_icons drama happened in the first place. Sandy made some beautiful work, but sometimes it's hard for me to tell if an icon was made by her or virginiawolfj or filmowe. It also makes it trickier because Sandy's style changed over time. From darker and no sparkles or textures, to brighter and more sparkles and textures and filters. That's why I kind of wish I could see her icons in the order she posted them.
Gabby's style was always very unique, and it didn't change that much over time.
She also chose some really interesting screecaps.
I look at Disney icons a lot, and I've never seen an icon of Aurora touching the needle. I've seen icons of her in a trance. But not that specific cap. Or the one of Belle's reflection in the Beast's mirror. So cool.
I hope she is okay. I remember she was going through a rough divorce. All her livejournal blogs are deleted, and her website is gone.
Anyhow, I'm really lucky to have these graphics. Many I have saved from peoples' userpic lists, and a few from wd_awards. The majority I had already uploaded into my userpics. I loved her work and was really sad when she deleted everything. I've been looking at a lot of userpic lists, and there are more than a couple people who had all 15 of their icons exclusively from Gabby. One of the few graphic makers' icons I can recognize without any context.
I miss her. I hope she is happy.
