You use some of the same words as this alien I talked to. Are you an alien?

Oh, oh, and I know mine, I'm a Virgo 'cause I was born September 2nd but I don't know if it counts for countries.

I am a troll, which is a species alien to this world, so yes, I suppose you could say that. But my name is Aradia.

I'm sure it still counts. Virgo...that would be Kanaya's symbol. That's a good one to have.

Oh, Tavros said you guys were like the ones on the internet. Who's Kanaya?

Tavros was largely correct. Kanaya is another friend of ours, though she isn't in this town. There were twelve of us, and if my assumption is correct, we correspond to the different signs. She would be Virgo, then.

[Scout's watching her run in and out of the water, wondering just what the heck she's doing.]

( is she going to try again? it looks like it, but this time she just goes to the very edge of the water and stares at it uncertainly. )

I realize that. But I have to go in if I want to learn.

The zodiac is just a bunch of superstition, ultimately worthless.

ariesapocalypse March 4 2011, 17:26:23 UTC
That seems a bit of a hasty judgment. Even if it isn't scientific, it could still be interesting.

ergaleomancer March 4 2011, 17:27:39 UTC
I have nothing against things that aren't scientific, it's when things that aren't scientific attempt to masquerade as such.

Reply

ariesapocalypse March 4 2011, 17:31:06 UTC
I don't know if I would say it is masquerading. I don't think you're supposed to take it as scientific, just amusing.

A; shut up zodiac talk is fun letunityblossom March 4 2011, 17:50:35 UTC
Those can be a bit fun if you don't take them seriously. My birthday has changed, though, but it's February 16 now. I'm not sure which that is.

ariesapocalypse March 4 2011, 17:52:36 UTC
February sixteenth....oh. That's Aquarius.

I wonder if having your birthday changed throws it off. [amused] What would I be if it was still July 6th?

ariesapocalypse March 4 2011, 18:19:39 UTC
That would be Cancer. Which puts you with either Eridan or Karkat...tell me, are you more loyal and caring, or witty and inventive?

Not always. Zodiacs are normally made for fun, but some people take it seriously. It tells you how lucky you are, what may occur for you today and so on. I'm a Gemini for instance, because my birthday falls under such a sign.

ariesapocalypse March 4 2011, 18:20:43 UTC
Gemini, that's a good one. Maybe even one of the best.

So far I think it is just fun. More research could probably tell me if the statements in the magazine have any weight.

enviousmath March 4 2011, 19:26:11 UTC
Is it? I'm not sure about that, but it is an interesting zodiac. [And fitting, given Kyrie has a sister.]

I'm not sure they have weight really. It's sort of like fortune telling. If the teller gets it right, they're called a mystic. If they get it wrong, they're called a hack. So, if your zodiac prediction in the magazine comes true, you'll trust that same magazine again.

Well, if my theory is correct, Gemini corresponds with Sollux. And he's definitely better than a lot of other people.

So what you're saying is that the truth is purely coincidental, and by reading into it I may be attributing to it an acumen it wouldn't otherwise have?
