Europe - Day 22
Our final day in Europe: not too shabby. We again took the liberty of sleeping a little late this morning since we didn't have any train to catch or anything. Europe - Day 21
We finally got to sleep late (till 9am) today. We headed out when we were all ready to Piazzale Roma and the bus terminal. Europe - Day 20
Once again, our city hop continues. We woke up bloody early to catch our 7:50am train from Milan to Venice. We took a highspeed Eurostar so it was only 2.5 hours - most of which I slept. The bridge to the station was cool - it reminded me of the long bridge in Seattle ( Read more... ) -
Europe - Day 19
Our city hopping continues. We took an early train to Milan from Verona. We got in around 11am so we dropped our bags off at our hotel (we couldn't check in yet). We turned right back around and headed to the station where we hopped on the metro. Europe - Day 18
We started our day with yet another long train ride - 3 hours from Florence to Verona. As it turns out, we probably could have stayed longer in Florence (by a couple of hours) if we wanted to, but there wasn't really anything for us to see there. Europe - Day 17 - Shabbat #3
I can say that despite my being underwhelmed by Florence, Shabbat here was very good. We made our way to the shul from our hotel, which was a good 20 minute walk. We could see it from a distance though - there's a huge turquoise/green dome that rises up above the buildings. Europe - Day 16
Another day, another city. We got up early again for the train to Florence. It was only about an hour and a half. We left our bags in the station again (including my annoying box) and set off on foot to the Galleria dell'Academia. We woke up pretty early this morning to catch out train for our day trip to Naples/Pompeii. I was kinda tired and grumpy from waking up so early so I basically slept the entire 2 hour ride there (to Naples). Today was supposed to be our chill day, and it was somewhat but not as much as we would have liked. We got up a little later than usual and went to see Castel Sant'Angelo, which we hadn't seen the other day.
