Hi! Er, you don't know me. Sorry! I've just been Google-ing "linguistics at UWA" because i'm trying to figure out if I want to do it. I find linguistics interesting, but I have a very non-sciency brain and I'm not sure if my inner arts student is going to cave in when i get to second or third year. So I was just wondering if you could tell me what it was like. Lots of work? Occasionally easy? Interesting? Mind numbing? I would REALLY appreciate some inside information. :)
Haha, well I am not friends with any of the Linguistics people that aren't sciency, unfortunately. I find that Linguistics is really similar (in grammar reconstructions and that sort of thing) to logic. There are some 'arts' stuff, in Aboriginal Languages and another 2nd year unit (I forget) has some really important essays you have to do
( ... )
Thanks! It sounds really cool. Looks like i might be postponing it for a while but your insight is really helpful, i never like to trust the overviews on the uni website. Fortunately for me, i find grammar stuff really interesting so maybe that would help me get through it. Thankyou once again!

I recommend a suitable ratio of knitting-to-exercise! I think you could do both, alternating between the two.
