Well, at my high school the Homecoming dance was held after the Homecoming game in the fall. And we had a Senior Prom, but not a Junior Prom, although I know there are a lot of high schools that do both. For some reason, mine just... didn't. I honestly don't understand the purpose of the Homecoming dance/game, but there you have it - happens in the fall, after a football game, and is formal, but not as formal as prom.

The homecoming dance is right after the homecoming game. It's towards the beginning of the year, kinda as a welcome back. The homecoming game is always set up against your weakest opponent as a surefire win to kinda rally school spirit. The two high schools I've been to have always had one prom for both juniors and seniors as well as homecoming and my first school also had a turnabout dance midway through the year where girls ask the girls. Hope that helps love.

Lol thank you bb. it does. Kinda. IDK PPP is a weird ass not-very-thought-out movie, so I'll work with what I'm given. :P

yeah, at my school we had a homecoming game on a friday sometime in october as like a 'yo, you're at school again, love football' and then the homecoming dance would be the following evening. and the junior/senior prom was always in spring in like late april or early may.

Homecoming dance is in November. It's like the 2nd-biggest dance after prom, I guess, except anyone can go regardless of what year you're in. I don't really think it's necessary to mention the football game (or maybe I was just oblivious to that when I was in high school). I mean yeah, it occurs not long after the game (same week? month? idk) but I don't think people are thinking about football while they're at the dance.

Yea, definitely don't give a crap about the football, but knowing someone who's from Louisiana, football is a BIG DEAL, so I wanna try and mention it somewhere.... I was thinking it might be on the same day of the dance, but now that you mention it... that would certainly be a lot of activities packed into one day.... And football games are normally held on friday or saturday nights, right?

Oh well. Obviously this whole movie took very a very liberal approach to time flow, because it seems to me you would need at least another week in between Carter and Rosie getting electing princesses, doing all their fun princess things, getting together all the other girls for princess things, and then going to the dance that Friday. But that's just me.

Maybe it's a couple nights apart for some schools (or even the same day... but like you said, I have no idea how that's possible) but I think at my high school, it was at least a week, or a few weeks, or even a month apart. I don't know. I am 99% sure it was in November though. But I didn't go to the homecoming football game. Maybe you should try to pull up a school schedule of a random high school in Louisiana? Depending on how serious you are about your research!
