long weekend

My shower was Saturday afternoon, and despite work schedules, soccer games, and "I'm having contractions" reducing the guest list quite a bit, we still had loads of fun.  Since the shower ended up being all family, Bear & boys stayed and made it a co-ed event, with Beartaking pics (which he hasn't uploaded yet to flickr).  Panda really outdid ( Read more... )

Glad the baby shower went well. Compared to your check list, about how much stuff will you need to purchase now that you've had your shower? What was your most common gift? Did you get anything that you really didn't need? Since me and Greg are both the oldest, both grandparents to be are going nuts and so we're having 2 baby showers - one for each family basically and also one for each town so that friends from different areas will be able to make it.

I was wondering how yours turned out because Greg and I haven't bought anything for the nursery except a few items with a gift card and we're holding off until we see what we get from the baby showers before we make any big purchases.

Also, where are you registered? I'd like to give you a baby shower gift when Greg gets paid next. : )

Since originally we weren't going to have a shower, we'd either bought or been given a lot of the things we needed, so our registry ended up being clothes, some bottles/BF items, a few toys, and one or two items like a diaper genie. We're fairly minimalist on baby needs anyway, since we don't want to have to store items that aren't used early on (like a high chair).

Most folks didn't use the registry (or in one case, it didn't work for her to check off stuff) so I went in to clean up the registries today to make sure that anything we had way too much of was off there (there are some out-of-town family members who may still need it, I think).

Definately wait on purchases til post baby showers as you never know if you'll end up with 4 baby bathtubs or not, since some folks don't know you can take the registry printout and have it scanned to show as fulfilled.

We did get a lot of diapers & wipes, so we are set for at least a month in that department.

Aww how sweet, but you don't have to get us a gift!

If she keeps kicking my stomach and giving me heartburn, yeah, I'm ready. ;-)

I keep telling her she has to wait until the end of the month at least because I don't have a temp to cover me at work yet.

Sounds like it went well, with luck (if it hasn't already ;)) My parcel will turn up with you all.

No parcel yet. Bear has been watching like a hawk for it, but says the mailman hasn't been to our house in days. He's seen him in the neighborhood, but we haven't even merited junk mail lately, oddly enough. If we don't get anything by tomorrow (mail or parcel) he'll check with the post office to see what is going on.

Your rental fees are so cheap compared to around here. It's $80 a month here. I'm lucky that my insurance will also pay for an electric double pump if I have a prescription from my doc, so I'm going to get another just to have backup.
