my sister had both of her kids use Isomil formula because of the frequent gassiness and spitting up. I know it is soy based, lactose free, and specially formulated for fussiness, gas and spit up. I was only able to breast feed my 2 month old for a short time after he was born, and he is on Isomil. I got lucky and he wasn't like my sister's kids at all. Although he was supplemented on Similac Advance while I was breastfeeding him. I told the pediatrition that I wanted him on Isomil because that was the formula I knew most the about. Hope that this is helpful to you.

Thanks for the reply... unfortunately we tried the Isomil and she couldn't poop while on it, poor kid. Sad because my older son was formula fed and soy did great for him when he couldn't drink regular formula. She takes a hypoallergenic formula that is broken down a bit to make it easier to digest.

Are you still looking for an Adopt-A-Mom mentor? In case you are, I've been pumping for over a year and a half. Not sure how much I can actually HELP, but I'm more than willing to be an ear if you need one!!
