Please return my sleep-deprived brain?

Bear & J2's trip to KY went well. They had fun, aside from Delta screwing up the second leg of their flight so that they didn't leave Cincinnati until 4:50pm instead of by lunchtime. Panda came over today and helped with the last big bulky item off the truck. We put the stuff we were getting rid of outside and before I could finish making a " ( Read more... )

Ok, your son is now taller than I am. I'm going to assume he's freakishly tall and I'm perfectly normal.

Hard to believe he was only 4 when you and I first met in Ridges. ;-) Now he's a teenager.

His pediatrician said he was "on track" to be about 5'9" at his physical last year but I think it'll be a little more than that - closer to 6ft.

I've been thinking about Nici recently, and her daughter. I wish I could do something for her. I'm sorry your year has been so rough, but I'm glad that you've had some blessings too. Lenae is so beautiful!

I'm just glad we did the Olivia in Lenae's name to honor her. Lenae was born on her birthday, after all. I just wish there'd been more time. You get lulled into a false sense of "she's beat it this long, she'll keep going." Losing Papaw should have been a clue... Not a lot of honest, straight forward folks around like Nici, so I miss her a lot.

Thank you on Lenae. She really is a little beauty and I hope she doesn't get too spoiled because we're so glad to have her.

I agree, half the events of '07 were tragic at best. But I still wouldn't trade it - a beautiful, healthy baby girl, as well as you and I growing closer, make it worth the time. *g* I love you!

I love you too! And no, I wouldn't trade most of this year for anything... just wish there'd been more time with those we lost.

Glad to hear about the cysts not getting any bigger.

My son is close to topping me in height as well... strange to see that happening... i am hoping the short gene skips him and he takes after my other family and hits 6 foot or more.

J1's pediatrician estimated him to be on track for 5'9" at his 12 year physical but I think that's going to be a little shy (I guess more like 6ft). Hopefully he'll take after his dad's side where most of the men are 5'10" or better. My family has short men - or hugely tall ones - with little in between.

Aww. I feel bad for your little girl. My son had a terrible cold a few weeks back. I used Baby Vicks Vapor Rub on him during the day and had a vaporizer that I could put some Kaz Inhalent into (it's a menthol oil), it helped him keep from getting so congested at night, so he could breathe better. I also elevated the head of his mattress a little too, so the mucus wouldn't lay in his chest. He slept a little better at night when I did all these things. If you don't have a vaporizer, let the shower run with hot water and let her sit in the bathroom with some steam in the air. That works for congestion too. I hope she gets better soon!
