Just got home from a canning party.  I thought I'd give canning a try this summer, and now I'm a little bit addicted.  Food preservation has become my friend.  So far I've made two batches of dilly beans, a batch of tomatillo salsa, and a batch of pickles.  Tonight Beth and Andrea taught me how to can tomatoes, and as soon as I have enough ripe ( Read more... )

You have cherry tomatoes that sit around? What's wrong with you!?

Bulk tomatoes (Romas and slicers) are available at Troy this week, let me know if you're interested and I'll send you the info I've got.

We have So. Many. cherry tomatoes! I planted one large red cherry that is producing like mad, and there are two yellow pear (I didn't realize that they were little) that are also going nuts. They're all in the slow cooker right now!

I'm pretty sure that I'm good with tomatoes. We don't have a lot of ripe ones (other than the cherry ones) yet, but there are so many green ones. I think we planted about 12 tomato plants.
