I called Appalachian this morning to see what Isaac needed to do to withdraw there.  Almost instantly they knew who I was talking about and asked why we were wanting to withdraw.  I gave her the reasoning about Akron's scholarship.  She said well we could bump Isaac up to a full scholarship (at the moment he has a 75% award).  Then I told her about ( Read more... )

Today University of Akron accepted Isaac with a FULL scholarship and a 10k stipend.  Not too much else to say.  Akron is a Tier 3 school which is higher than the other accepts Capital, Regent, and Appalachian which are all Tier 4 schools.  The only better school we applied to was St. Louis where we are waitlisted.  Even if he gets a seat at SLU we ( Read more... )

Isaac submitted his application along with his 3 essays this morning.  They sent an email back saying they have received it and that "The search committee will review applications and will contact selected candidates for interviews."  Prayers welcomed.

Isaac is in the process of applying for an Adoption Fellowship at Capital University.  For the application process he has to write a brief essay on a current, substantive issue in child welfare or adoption law.  After an evening of google searches he decided on the open record debate.  This morning he printed off a bunch of articles to read today ( Read more... )

Isaac was waitlisted at St. Louis University today.  MUCH MUCH prayer is requested and appreciated.

I am pleased to announce that your file has been reviewed for law school scholarships and grants, and you have been awarded the following for Fall 2006/Spring 2007:

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship Scholarship of $15,000 [$7,500 Fall ‘06 and $7,500 Spring ‘07]; annual renewal with a minimum 3.0 cumulative spring GPA

Isaac has been awarded $15,000/year renewable scholarship with a 3.0 gpa at Regent University.  This is wonderful news, but we were expecting this scholarship to give us a little more funding ($7k more/year).  So please continue to pray for the multiple other scholarships to which Isaac has applied at Regent University.  Also we ask your prayers ( Read more... )
