Whoa!!! That's exceedingly strange-looking! How quickly do the lines fade? Is it like putting a too-tight rubber band around your wrist?

Mine was a mere gallbladder removal... the only challenge was where I had to go to do it! Your situation is far, far more dire and important; I only wish I lived there and could help with the driving and all. You bet I'm keeping an eye on what you write here!
