Saturday is the memorial service, a celebration of Richard...I got confused, not difficult. There will not be a live podcast, but we anticipate some video moments that will be shared online, so I'll post a link for that when available.

For those of you who are local, Richard's memorial service will be at the LoDo Tattered Cover from 3-6 pm on Thursday. This morning I woke up, got the kid up, let the kid and her mom go to school, then dropped off again. Four hours later I woke up, and took a very slow walk to our local park. I read some of "James Tiptree, Jr: The Double Life of Alice B. Sheldon", then walked home again. And fell asleep for hours.

All of our friends, occasionally seeing me stumbling around the school, or one of the soccer games, have fallen quickly into bringing us food. We've become the needy folks with me, the peculiar bald man, and we've been given more good homemade food lately than we ever have been.

Just rest, idiot
My brother and his wife showed up too early. I'd finished three months of treatment to my brain cancer. After that I was descending into the worst stuff yet. It's expected. I should have told my brother and his wife to stay away for another month or two, but I didn't.

Soccer!
My kid played soccer today, in the first game of the year, and won! Which means that the guy who's become our coach after just hanging out for years, the soccer player engineer from India, he's perfect for them. This is the first time in years our team has won the first game in a season. Watching their moves got my eyebrows raised, 'cause they' ( Read more... ) -

Satellite crash on the moon tonight. Binoculars seems to be all you need, really. If I'm still awake I might give it a look.

Thank you for the summer. Today Carol dropped me off to pick up stuff from the pharmacy at our big medical unit, on the edge of downtown. And it is gorgeous out there - sunny, sweet, a little windy, so lovely.
