Even having never met Richard, this news saddens me. I am wishing grace, healing, and eventual peace for his family and friends.

Hi, you don't know me, I'm here via a link in NeonNurse's journal. Just wanted to let you know you're in my thoughts.

Also, if you contact LiveJournal they can set the status of his journal to deceased and keep it on. You won't be able to add anything else to it, but at least you won't have to worry about the entries being deleted.
