as much as id like to agree with you (im a huge eels fan) i have to say yuo are wrong. in my opinion sufjan is one of the best songwriters of all time. on par with brian wilson, paul mccartney, and john lennon. mark everett (E) is a wonderful songwriter though. the main reason for the comparison is their mutual use of added elements such as chimes, choirs, whatever, they both have a knack for orchestral pieces using nontraditional instrumentation.
