today I added Dustin Flynt to the list of people I have interviewed. Yesterday saw Don Was and David Was of Was (Not Was). Don Was was in LA and had just come from recording the Rolling Stones. He was talking about how Keith and Mick are like fighting five year olds

i had to read that first paragraph about four times before i got it.

i'm jealous, i think interviewing people is really fun. especially when they are intrinsically interesting like musicians or actors or whatever. not that i've ever interviewed one, but i imagine i'd have an easier time fishing for interesting bits. do you go fishing for bits, or do they just sit there and talk at you?

hahahahaha. Don said Sweet Pea is his hero. Sweet Pea apparently drives an '80s Cadillac that looks beat up on the outside, but in the trunk there's a full bar lined with expensive, imported carpet and fancy wood, along with a stereo system and special lighting. Don used this story to explain why he keeps all of his gold records in a storage locker.

I fish like a longshoreman. my favorite thing is when you're talking to someone who has been interviewed hundreds of times over years and years and you ask them a question and they pause and say, "wow, no one's ever asked me that before."
