PART I As soon as the front door closed, Kazuya opened his eyes and there was a weird gleam in their brown color. He sat up and looked carefully around the room, a creepy smile spreading across his face. He had never thought it would be this easy, he should have done this from the beginning, he should have used his charms in a more realistic way, not in the slutty and needy one. Now he had managed to fool Jin, he had managed to get him to believe that Kazuya was okay and that his mind wasn’t thinking of drugs anymore. And the truth was that he had never even stopped thinking about narcotics, not since his body craved deeply for them, never letting him forget. But he did forget, he did not think of drugs and that moment had been in the shower with Jin. And as soon as everything ended, as the orgasm wore off, the need was back again and clawing his body with its sharp talons.
That’s why Kazuya was happy that Jin trusted him enough to leave him alone and untied. The younger smirked to himself and hurried to get off the bed, heading for the drawers. He had seen Jin hid the white powder somewhere in here - though he didn’t expect to find them in the same room where he was - and maybe he hadn’t removed them yet. So Kazuya began his search, soon feeling frustrated by not finding a single pill or trace of powder. He sighed and looked around him, not taking notice of the mess he had just made - clothes thrown everywhere, books lied opened and looking roughly skimmed through and even the sheets were turned upside down. Kazuya sighed and decided to check the other rooms, but when he went to the door, it was locked. He frowned upon this small detail and he began to pull on the knob, rattling it strongly. He also kicked the door a few times, reacting like a madman, hitting it with his fists and legs too. Huffing and enraged, he looked around and took a chair and began to hit with it the knob. Cursing under his breath, he put the chair down - awfully calm - and took a few steps back before running into the door, hitting and bruising his shoulder. Kazuya repeated this a few times and he felt the door crumble a little under his attacks. Then he took the chair again until he finally managed to break the knob and push the door open. With a grumpy and mad expression, he proceeded to the living room, thinking that if Jin locked him in the bedroom, then definitely the drugs were in the other rooms.
Yet, after a few moments, Kazuya had a fit and began to rip apart pillows, papers, shattered some vases and almost rolled the couch upside down in his fury mixed with frustration. “Where is it, where is it?!” he was mumbling each time he’d tear files and throw the pieces into the air, shouting out of frustration. There was nothing in the fucking room and he began to scratch his skin again and also pulled his hair, chewing his lower lip. He fell in the middle of the room, rocketing back and forward like a child, his eyes darting from left to right, up and down, still checking the room as if he had missed any place.
Then he saw something, something he had missed. He crawled to it and took it into his arms thinking of the only person who could really help him. He picked up the phone and dialed Koki’s number. As soon as the other answered, he began to whine and real tears were streaming down his cheeks.
“Koki… I need them, I really do…” Kazuya said, rocketing once again. “And he won’t give them… though he promised… he keeps me here…” he continued, not letting the other speak. “Koki… help me…”
“Kazuya! Where are you?!” His friend finally managed to say something, his voice alarmed.
“At Jin’s… he’s keeping me here and he doesn’t even help me.” The younger cried, hiccupping a few times. “I’m feeling sick and he won’t give me medicine…” Kazuya lied through his tears.
“WHAT?! Kazuya, tell me his address, I’m coming right there!” Koki said immediately, rage pulsing in his veins.
Kazuya began to sob some more. “Help me…” he said and wanted to give Jin’s address if the phone didn’t get pulled out his hands and thrown into the wall. The younger turned and saw a furious Jin looking down at him.
“What. The. Fuck. Are. You. Doing.” Jin hissed the words with a poisonous tone, his eyes full with rage and anger and looking on the verge of loosing his last piece of sanity.
Kazuya gulped and his eyes darkened as he scrambled to his feet and ran past Jin heading for the exit. But the door was locked and he began pounding on it. “I want OUT!” he began to shout, turning his head to glare at Jin who was now coming towards him.
“Well, I want to be the king of the world, but this doesn’t mean I’ll get it.” Jin yelled, his eyes darkening as he grabbed Kazuya by his hands and dragged him back into the room, throwing him on the bed and completely ignoring the younger’s yells and struggles to get away. “I can’t believe I trusted you!!” he blamed himself, sitting next to the bed and looking at Kazuya who reached for some pillows and began to throw them into Jin.
“You lied to me!!” Kazuya shouted, now taking even the sheets. “Of course I’d lie back to you!” he added, throwing the sheets but somehow he managed to unbalance himself, resulting in Kazuya falling off the bed, head first.
“When the hell did I ever lie to you?!” Jin rolled his eyes at the stupidity of those words and sighed frustrated when he saw Kazuya falling, not caring a bit if he hurt himself or not - it wasn’t like it would be something more than a scratch when you compared it with the way his whole body looked. He leaned over the boy and grabbed him harshly and roughly by his arm, pulling him up and throwing him again on the bed with a merciless move, Jin straddling him immediately to ensure himself that Kazuya won’t do anything stupid.
Things seemed to have gone back to the first days of Kazuya’s fight with the drugs when Jin had been forced to tie him up.
“Gerroff me.” Kazuya struggled to get away from Jin, feeling his head throbbing like hell because of the pain. “You lied to me saying that you’re letting me free, yet you locked me in the bedroom!!” the younger said quickly, wearing a hateful expression.
“I said I’ll untie you, not that I’ll let you roam free around the house when I’m not home.” Jin shot back, catching Kazuya’s arms and pinning them to the bed. “Besides, you pretended really beautifully to be asleep when you were waiting for the perfect chance to destroy my house in search for those damned drugs!!” he started with a calm but angered voice only to finish with a loud one, his eyes sparkling in a frightening way as he leaned over Kazuya to spit the words close to his face. “You planned this from the start, you bastard!” he then proceeded to accuse the younger, their faces so close that their lips were almost touching as Jin spoke.
Kazuya’s lips curled into a cold smile. “Took you long enough to notice.” He said to Jin, sticking his tongue out and licking the other’s lips. “Though I can’t deny that I enjoyed our play in the shower.” Kazuya winked at Jin and let out a mean laugh.
“Oh, God.” Jin sighed, feeling already too tired for all of this. “Why, Kazuya?” he whined with a lame tone. “Why don’t you try and help me as you promised?” he asked, straightening his body a little to look at the boy from above, his eyes still fixed on Kazuya’s.
The other one scoffed. “Give me a break. I need those pills as much as I need air, I can’t give up as easily as you want me to.” He continued, sounding so rational that it made you wonder if he really hadn’t got over his addiction. But his eyes spoke for him - they looked feverish and his fingers won’t stand still, twitching and trembling. “Until I break you, I won’t give them up.” The younger said as if there was another person inside of him - one that was made of the need for drugs. Kazuya smirked.
“You promised.” Jin insisted. “You told me you would try to fight your addiction as long as I’ll resist your attempts of making me give them to you.” He reminded the younger, hoping that he’ll make him somehow think back at that day when everything seemed better and when Kazuya wanted to fight the drugs, not give in to them.
Kazuya frowned and he suddenly began to sing. “I can’t hear you, I can’t heaaaar you~” He shut his eyes, not even wanting to look at Jin. “I don’t want to hear you, I don’t want to heaaar you~” He also began to move his head from one side to another.
Jin growled, feeling frustrated and annoyed and helpless because he couldn’t do anything for Kazuya but to go back to the old ways of doing things. So he let go of Kazuya’s hands and moved a little to reach the drawer next to the bed and draw out the bindings that he had used before on Kazuya, decided to stop listening and understanding and just take the matter into his own hands.
“What are you doing with those?!” Kazuya suddenly shouted, looking wary at the bindings. He tried to get away from Jin, crawling on the bed to get off him. “You’re not tying me again, jerk!”
“Oh, yes, I am.” Jin replied with a threatening voice, catching Kazuya’s right hand and starting to tie it to the bed, assuring himself that the younger couldn’t use his legs which were still trapped between his own and that the only thing he could do was to struggle himself without any result. “I’m not going to let you hurt yourself or try to escape and get high again!”
“Let me gooooo!!” Kazuya began to shout and continued on pulling his hand so that Jin couldn’t easily tie him up. And luckily for the younger, that was when the doorbell began to ring, startling both of them. He couldn’t let this opportunity slip away. “Help!! Help me!!” he began to shout and soon they heard beside the doorbell, furious pounding on the door too.
“Shut up!” Jin ordered, having finished with one hand and proceeding to tie the other up while covering Kazuya’s mouth with a pillow, raising himself on the bed to be able to put his leg on it to stop the younger from throwing it from his face while he tried to hurry up with the binding to not let Kazuya suffocate. “Shut up or I’m going to make you!!” he threatened, trying to finish his task and cursing loudly whoever disturbed him in such a moment. He really wanted to kill someone that moment and seeing as he couldn’t kill Kazuya, the person who was trying now to forcibly open the door was going to be the unlucky one.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing, asshole?!” Koki shouted as he grabbed Jin by the waist and threw him away from Kazuya. “You’re trying to kill him?!” he continued to yell, his eyes darting into Kazuya’s direction who was coughing and gasping for air. “Are you okay?” Koki asked on a gentle tone, his heart tightening at the sight of his friend. There were bruises on his arm, his face was red and there were tears in his eyes.
“Koki…” Kazuya whined and sniffed a little. “Uepi…” he then said looking at the other man who was standing still with a horrified expression. He had been the one to open Jin’s apartment as once he had made a copy of the key. Yet, when Koki had said that Jin was keeping Kazuya locked up he hadn’t thought that it would be this grave and that Jin would really do all those things to his friend. Didn’t he say he loved him? Then why was Kazuya looking like he had been beaten up and why Jin was suffocating the boy when they came in? Ueda wasn’t sure he wanted to know all this.
“You fucker…” Jin mumbled, being surprised at the intrusion because he hadn’t expected that the one who was knocking on the door to come barging in like that. He looked up from the floor where he had landed when Koki had pushed him and jealousy mixed with fury flickered in his eyes as Jin stood up and took a fast step towards Koki, delivering a punch that no one had seen coming and sending him flying to the floor.
This had just been the last straw. And Jin wanted revenge right now.
Kazuya’s eyes widened in shock and Ueda was rooted to the bed, next to the former. “Jin, stop!!” he shouted from the bed and rattled the headboard, wanting to release himself.
From the floor, Koki lifted himself a little and wiped the blood from his mouth. “I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time.” He muttered and jumped up, launching himself towards Jin and directing a blow in the stomach, making Jin bend from the pain.
“No, STOP!” Kazuya continued shouting, worry and fear written on his face.
“The hell I will.” Jin cursed, now really pissed off. He straightened himself and his expression changed completely, turning into one merciless and revengeful, one that wanted blood and screamed for it, looking very much like the one he had had in that abandoned warehouse when he got beaten badly. He completely ignored his surroundings as he looked at and saw only Koki, only his victim. He took a deep breath, seeming really calm even if his eyes were menacing and seemed to be speaking about the tragedy that was going to happen in that room.
It was too perfect. Koki had it coming for a long time, Jin thought as he dodged one of Koki’s punches and hit him again with all of his strength in the face, sending the other one flying into the dresser. He had wanted to beat the hell out of that bastard for a long time but he hadn’t been able to do it because of Kazuya, because the younger had asked him not to. But now Jin really didn’t care. He had stopped listening to Kazuya since the moment Koki hit him back.
And now he’ll know how it felt like to mess with Akanishi Jin.
“Ueda, untie me NOW!” Kazuya screamed, looking frantic at the shocked man and rattled the headboard some more. “JIN!” the younger shouted the other’s name, but there was no response and when he saw Koki shaking his head - probably to shrug off the dizziness - and getting again in the fighting position, he shouted his name, knowing that he, at least, will listen to him. “Koki, STOP!!”
And Kazuya’s voice had Koki turn his head which was a wrong move because Jin got him a third time, hitting his face again and sending him to the floor this time, the older following him immediately as Jin straddled Koki and grabbed his shirt, starting to deliver punches to his face without mercy.
“Fuck.” Koki muttered as he felt pain soaring freely into his body when Jin stopped for a second, only to smirk. On the other side of the room, Kazuya was cursing loudly and shouting to stop while Ueda fumbled with his bindings.
“Not so tough now, huh?” Jin said with a cold voice, piercing with his eyes into Koki’s soul and getting rid of his every lid of defense. One more punch. “You lost your braveness now?” he mocked the other with a laugh. Another punch. “You’re useless, you’re just a piece of shit.”
But even with Jin’s punches, it was Kazuya’s terrified voice that gave Koki the strength that he had begun to lose because of the beating. So he lifted his hand and clutched it around Jin’s neck, gripping it as tightly as he could. There was a smirk on his bleeding face when he spoke. “I still have Kazuya by my side, even as the shit that you say I am.”
“Oh, really?” Jin smirked as he felt amused that Koki still had such a confidence in Kazuya when he had no idea how he really was and that the younger had chosen to trust himself to Jin for fighting the battle against drugs. His eyes darkened in a second though as he suddenly felt jealous of Koki, of that fact that Kazuya was screaming for him when he had been seducing Jin just a few minutes ago for drugs. For that came Koki there? To drag him back to the world of destruction?!
“You don’t have anything.” One more punch, more powerful and more destructive as Jin lost completely in face of fury. “You’re just a stupid fool that trusts blindly a whore and a drug addict.” He added with an evil voice, spitting the words like he was disgusted by them. “And you need to learn your place.” Jin finished with a small smile on his lips, tilting his head a little. In the next second, his lips became a thin line and Jin started to punch Koki again, without giving him time to breathe.
And that’s when Kazuya threw himself over Jin, stopping him from hitting Koki more whose hand lost all of his strength and had fallen limp on the floor. “Stop…” Kazuya said with a hoarse voice against Jin’s neck. “You’re killing him!!” he shouted the next moment, looking at Jin, tears flowing down his cheeks. He began to push Jin over Koki, letting the beaten man finally breathe. Ueda finally reacted and quickly dragged Koki from Jin, disgusted at how bloody looking his friend was now. He was in denial that Jin could have done something like this, yet the inevitable result was in his arms, barely breathing.
“Kazuya…” Koki managed to say, a bubble of blood forming from his mouth. The younger quickly turned his head to look at him, though the sight made him weep more.
Jin didn’t say anything, didn’t move as Kazuya interfered with their fight. A couple of minutes passed until he finally turned his head to look at Kazuya, his eyes unreadable and his mouth a thin line. He raised himself from the floor and turned his back on the younger, looking at Koki and Ueda, his fists still itching with the desire of hitting something. Anything.
“He should know better than mess with someone better than him.” the older simply said, shrugging a little while his eyes continued to examine the two men in front of him.
Kazuya felt a sudden rage pass through him like a fiery arrow. He turned his face to Jin, still standing on the floor, weak in the knees because of what he had seen Koki become. “And you should know better to keep your promises regarding my friends.” The younger said to Jin through gritted teeth, fury flashing into his brown eyes. But he didn’t want to say more, so he turned away from Jin again and crawled slowly to Koki who was kind of whimpering.
It was odd and wrong to see his friend like this. He had always considered Koki being one of the toughest guys he knew and certainly the image of a whimpering and bleeding person didn’t suit him at all. Kazuya touched lightly the other’s leg, afraid that if he’ll do more, Koki will crumble under his eyes. “Take him to hospital.” He said on a hoarse voice to Ueda, his eyes now fixed only on Koki’s bloody face.
“No -” Koki breathed and cringed at the pain when he wanted to move towards Kazuya. “I won’t leave you.” He said on a weak but determined voice. Kazuya’s eyes shone with tears and he wanted to say something when Jin interfered.
“Step away from him.” he said with a dark tone, taking one step forward and crossing his arms in annoyance as he looked from above at the three friends. “Now.” He added, a sign that he was losing the patience that never existed in the first place.
Ueda seemed to want to say something, but Kazuya cut him first. “He’s hurt and I won’t abandon him just because you’re telling me to do so!” he raised his voice, defying Jin.
And Jin lost it. He brutally grabbed Kazuya’s arm and pulled him up, forcing the younger to look him in the eyes. “Don’t forget your place, you whore.” He hissed, shaking the boy a little. “I’ve had enough of your games, of your attempts to give up drugs and your tries to seduce me for them.” He said as he grabbed both of Kazuya’s arms and glued their bodies, ignoring the other two and concentrating only on Kazuya. “Promise?” he scoffed. “What promise?” he rolled his eyes with a mocking expression. “That was a deal we had as long as I was your master. I’m your lover now, we don’t need that fucking deal because I thought it was obvious I wouldn’t do anything to them as long as you were happy!!” he finished with a loud tone, almost yelling as he narrowed his eyes. “Don’t you dare and tell me about promises when you created this whole mess just because you want drugs! It’s your fault!!”
“And this means doing nothing to them?!” Kazuya shouted back, pointing with his head towards Koki. “You should have beaten me if it’s my fault!! Not to almost murder my friend!” He continued on the same loud tone and pushed Jin away from him, slightly aware of Ueda’s shocked face and Koki’s tries to get up again.
Jin let go of Kazuya, looking like he’ll really do what the younger suggested if he stayed longer near him. “He’s not dead and he’ll be fine.” The older said with a shrug, not caring at all if Koki died or not.
Kazuya’s face paled and he went to Ueda, a slight tremble in his hand as he grabbed his shoulder. “I’m coming with you at the hospital.” He said, ignoring Jin. If for him, Koki was no big deal, for Kazuya it was a part of his everything - a very important one.
“Kazuya, don’t make me angrier than I already am.” Jin said through gritted teeth, using all of his self-control to not kill the two intruders and tie Kazuya up where he belonged. “Don’t make me do something I really don’t want to.” He added, as he tried to remind the boy that all three of them were blocked there with Jin if he didn’t want to give them the code to open the front door. Besides, they wouldn’t get far after stepping out on Jin’s territory.
And his trained dogs weren’t as patient as he was.
Kazuya turned to look at Jin with a disgusted expression. “Koki is my friend.” He replied, the hand on Ueda’s shoulder trembling slightly. “He needs to be treated and I want to be beside him in hospital.” He continued, his voice shaking a little as he glanced at Koki. “You can’t stop me from helping him.” Kazuya added and there was determination in his voice as he confronted Jin.
“Yes, I can and you know that damned right.” Jin chuckled, feeling a little amused to see this Kazuya ready to face him again. It brought old memories back and maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing that this happened, Jin concluded as he glanced at Koki. It seemed to have made Kazuya stop thinking at those damned drugs and for Jin it was a good thing, no matter the consequences or victims involved.
Though he kind of felt sorry for Ueda.
Kazuya frowned and crouched next to Koki, ignoring yet again Jin. “Uepi, let’s lift him slowly.” He said to his friend as he slipped his hand under Koki and gently pulled him up with Ueda’s help. Koki’s blood tainted him and Kazuya fought back the nausea. It was the last thing he wanted to see - his friend beaten up to a pulp. “You’ll be okay, Koki. We’re here.” He whispered to his friend, looking into his eyes which were half closed. “I’m here.” Kazuya added and his lips curled a little, forming a sad smile.
“Same here.” Koki replied with a hushed voice and grabbed lightly Kazuya’s hand, dirtying it with blood.
“Now isn’t that wonderful?!” Jin yelled, rolling his eyes and flapping his hand in annoyance. If Kazuya didn’t want to understand, then so be it, he thought as he grabbed yet again the younger one’s arm and pulled the boy towards him while pushing Koki back and making him fall on the floor again. Ueda tried to grab him but remained frozen for the first couple of seconds as he was surprised by Jin’s move and thus being too late to catch him while Kazuya was once again trapped by Jin’s hands and strength, pinned to the wall by Jin’s body.
“You have three seconds to decide.” He hissed on an awfully calm tone, totally uncharacteristic to him as he felt like he was boiling with anger and that he could kill all of them in any minute. “The first option,” Jin continued, not letting Kazuya answer, bringing his hands up and holding them with one hand while he used the other one to cover the younger’s mouth, “is to listen to me and go back to bed. You stay there like the obedient child you should be and I’ll take care that Koki is sent to the hospital. If I’m feeling generous enough and you’ll behave in every aspect, I may let you see him.” he stopped, gazing into Kazuya’s eyes and waiting for a refusal before continuing. After all, it wouldn’t be fun if Kazuya accepted this easy.
The younger narrowed his eyes at Jin before glancing to Koki who was coughing blood. He wanted to yell at him that he was being stupid now and there wasn’t time to play such stupid games and that Koki needed to be treated, but he couldn’t as the son of a bitch didn’t remove the hand from his mouth. He fretted a little, trying to free himself but Jin was determined to keep him pinned to the wall. His eyes flashed with anger and there was a hint of sadistic amusement as he lifted his leg and tried to hit Jin between his legs, failing with flying colors.
Jin just smirked. “It won’t work, baby.” He chuckled darkly as he pushed Kazuya’s legs to settle his own between the younger’s and grinded his hips into the boy’s. “Blood always makes me horny.” He whispered at Kazuya’s ear, licking it and teasing it a bit, enjoying the involuntary shiver that passed though Kazuya’s body - though if it was out of fear or pleasure, Jin had no idea and he wasn’t that interested to know. “Just nod or shake your head if you want to say something because I’m a little tired of your yapping and I’m afraid that I’ll kill one of them if I hear more from you. So it’s better this way, don’t you think?” Jin tilted his head, smiling innocently and looking sickening. “The next option you have won’t be that nice though because it includes one of my deepest desires.” He continued with a somehow dreamy expression even if it was clearly mocking. “And one of your friends down there,” he stopped to point with his head into Koki’s direction without even looking at the other two, “is on my list for a long time.” He ended with a dark tone, his eyes narrowing as the urge to hit Koki more came back to him, even more powerful that before.
I love you. Kazuya had never said those words to Jin, but he did to Koki. And this memory chose exactly this moment to haunt him again.
Kazuya’s eyes widened in fear and he was going to nod his head or frantically shake it to make Jin let him speak when another voice broke the pressuring silence. “Jin.” It was Ueda the person who talked, being the first time he interfered since he came into Jin’s apartment. “Let Kazuya go.” There was a plea in his voice, never wavering and patient. Koki shifted slightly next to Ueda as if he wanted to tell him to stop such words coming from his friend’s mouth. Though he desired the same thing as Ueda - Kazuya to be let go.
Jin glanced unsurely at Ueda, feeling pity for the man to be dragged in all of this. He had told Ueda that he deserved a better person than Jin but somehow it seemed that he had managed to come back at the man who could hurt them all. He sighed and detached himself from Kazuya - a little reluctantly though - wondering why the hell was he listening to Ueda when even Kazuya couldn’t make him stop this time. He ruffled his hair in frustration and turned to look at Ueda with a tired expression. “I’ll call someone to help Koki or you can go with him to the hospital, though I wouldn’t recommend that for now.” He said, his lips curling up a little as he asked himself when the hell had Akanishi Jin become so weak. “But Kazuya stays here.” He added with a firm voice, staring into Ueda’s eyes as if he was the man in charge and the only one who could talk to Jin and decide.
Ueda felt himself nodding, but there were two voices that denied such a thing. “NO!” Koki and Kazuya said in the same time, the injured one coughing and Kazuya breathing hard. “I’m going with him.” Kazuya said immediately, looking a little pitiful if not for his burning eyes. Ueda seemed alarmed for the moment as he looked from Jin and Kazuya, unsure if he should interfere.
“Kame.” He chose to do so in the end or otherwise there will be another blood bath and he had seen enough for a lifetime. “Koki will be fine…” Ueda said, sounding unsure but it was mostly because he couldn’t assure the younger that he will be fine if he stayed with Jin.
He wanted to help both Koki and Kazuya, but taking the latter would mean Jin’s wrath and somehow, the weird and mad gleam in his ex-lover’s eyes was enough to make him afraid of what meant confronting Jin like this. In a way, Ueda realized that Kazuya was really the only one for Jin and the sole person that could take upon him and get away unscratched; that if you ignored the bruises the younger had.
“You aren’t leaving.” Jin looked at Kazuya, seeming a little calmer now but his voice was still cold. “I said that you won’t leave this house until you manage to control your drug addiction and that’s final.” He said, not really caring at the moment if the others two found out about Kazuya’s problems. “Kazuya, all of this happened because you wanted drugs.” Jin sighed, suddenly feeling really tired. Maybe he had made a mistake. Maybe it was better to leave the younger as he was before, dealing with his problems with the help of drugs.
But he couldn’t do it now.
“Fuck the drugs!!” Kazuya shouted. “Koki needs me and I couldn’t care shit about the drugs!!” he added furious, fisting his hands. “I’ll leave, Jin, and you ain’t stopping me!” The younger tried to pass past Jin to Koki, wanting to help him and Ueda to get out of there as quickly as possible, but Jin stopped him yet again, grabbing his hand and pulling him into his arms, sealing their lips and looking intensively into Kazuya’s eyes as he kept their mouths locked for a few seconds, all different kind of emotions passing through Jin’s eyes in that moment - fear, anger, love, concern, hatred, tiredness. Helplessness.
“You’re mine, Kazuya.” Jin said, surprising himself that his voice sounded so gentle and soothing after all the negative feelings that he was feeling. “And I belong to you, remember?” he asked with a small plea in his voice, reminding the younger that Jin had given his entire self to Kazuya, that he was his and that Kazuya was his owner, exactly how Jin owned Kazuya.
On the floor, Ueda and Koki looked astounded, hurt and anger on both of their faces. Koki wanted to say something, but Ueda shook his head slightly, looking away from Jin and Kazuya. Somehow, despite the shock he had received today, he couldn’t help but feel hurt upon seeing such a scene. While Koki was angered by the fact that Kazuya was letting himself be toyed by a man like Jin and that he had even agreed to go out with him. He felt helpless in front of such a twisted Kazuya who had chosen a madman over his freedom.
“I never mentioned anything of who belongs to whom.” Kazuya replied, lifting his chin in defiance. “I only want to be with Koki when he’s hurt.” He continued, looking tearful but still defiant. “You already hurt my friend, don’t do something that will hurt even more.” The younger pleaded, his attitude suddenly changed.
“I’m sorry.” Jin said, the feeling of guiltiness finally hitting him as he realized that he had indeed exaggerated a little, but it was because he had been angered by that idiot and Kazuya should know better than anyone what would happen when someone annoyed Jin. “I didn’t mean to, I just snapped.” He whispered, cupping the younger’s cheeks with his hands and pecking his lips again, totally forgetting that they had company.
“Kazuya…” they heard a voice and the younger turned his head to look quickly at Koki. His heart sunk when he saw the disdainful expression Koki wore. “What the hell are you doing?” the injured man asked on a feeble voice, though you could totally feel the anger in it.
Kazuya looked unsure as he kept watching Koki, opening his mouth but words failed him. There was plea in his eyes, but Koki only let his head fall onto Ueda, tired of all this. If Kazuya and Jin shared such a relationship, why did the younger called him anyway?! Did he enjoy seeing his friend struggle over him, getting beaten up because of him?! No, he refused to believe that Kazuya was such a shallow and evil person. The one he cherished and loved was kind, always laughing and always there for his friends. Yet now… that Kazuya seemed to have vanished in the mist and caught in the web of Jin. He’ll never be that sweet and lovely boy Koki cherished so much.
“Ueda, let’s go.” He grumbled, wincing and shaking as he tried to lift himself. “He doesn’t need us anymore.” Koki added as he and Ueda stood up precariously.
“No, Koki -” Kazuya wanted to say and made a step towards them, but the grip on his hand stopped him. He looked at Jin and gulped. Would he go after them, Jin would turn ballistic again. What to do?
Jin’s eyes were clearly telling him that he had already made that decision for him and that Kazuya didn’t need to trouble his little head with stuff like this. A hint of enormous pain flashed through Kazuya’s eyes as he looked back at the older one and Jin rolled his eyes and sighed tiredly. “Do you really think it’s a good idea to talk to them now?” he asked the younger, lowering his voice so that only Kazuya could hear him.
“Either now, either later, it will never be easy.” Kazuya replied, not willing to admit that somehow Jin was right, even though he made no further attempt to go to his friends who were limping towards the door. “Call a car for them, I need them to be safe.” He asked Jin, worry and guilt written on his face. “Please… I need Koki to be alright.” Kazuya dug his fingers into Jin’s arms, his eyes slowly moving from Jin’s to the slouched and limping figure of Koki’s and lingering on him.
Jin sighed for the nth time that day. “Okay.” He said as he detached himself from Kazuya to fetch the phone from his pocket, dialing a number and closing quickly. “There’s Pi downstairs. Go with them, make sure they go into the car and then come back, okay?” Jin said, looking at Kazuya and silently telling him that he was going to give him another chance.
Kazuya nodded and went to help Koki, though the latter tried to shrug him off, giving up quickly in front of Kazuya’s stubbornness. The younger looked back at Jin and his lips curled a bit as he exited the room together with Ueda and Koki. When they arrived downstairs, he saw Pi already waiting for them and there was a momentarily surprise in his eyes before throwing his cigar and approaching them.
“Please, take him to the hospital.” Kazuya said quickly as Koki groaned because of the effort, now the blood dried on his face. Pi gave a curtly nod and opened the car’s door, watching silently as Ueda and Kazuya helped Koki slip inside. The injured one quickly let himself slid onto the back seat with a low grunt, breathing heavily. Kazuya passed his cold fingers over Koki’s forehead, not bothered that he was smearing himself red. “You’ll be alright.” He said with a whisper, guilt flowing in his voice. “I’m sorry.” He added and wanted to draw back when Koki’s hand feebly clutched around his wrist.
“Come with us.” Koki said and opened his eyes with a flutter. “We’ll protect you… just trust us on this.” He breathed the words, plea in his eyes and voice. Kazuya looked sadly at Koki and shook his head slightly, as if he didn’t want to refuse but had no chance.
“We’ve talked before about this.” Kazuya said on a low voice. “Things have changed from then… like you heard Jin…” the younger gulped and there was uncertainty in his eyes as he locked them with Koki’s in a piercing stare. “… I belong to him.” He completed with a long sigh.
Koki’s heart clenched at those words and his lips curled a bit into a sardonic smile. “Then go.” He replied, his hand leaving Kazuya’s wrist. The younger seemed to want to say some more, but Ueda’s cough stopped him. He just nodded and drew himself back, now facing Pi and his other friend.
“Take care of him, okay?” he pleaded to both of them, biting his lower lip as he sneaked another glance to the slumped form that was Koki. “I’m really sorry…” Kazuya addressed now only to Ueda who gave a nod and patted the boy on the shoulder.
“It’s not…” Ueda stopped - your fault - he had wanted to say, but somehow the words didn’t want to come out. “It will be alright.” He settled with saying this and passed Kazuya to get to the car. Although, he didn’t want to admit, he was blaming Kazuya for everything that had happened today. It was the younger’s fault for the way Jin reacted, it was his fault that Koki had gotten beaten up like this. It was Kazuya’s fault for having Jin head over heels for him and capable of murder because of him.
Kazuya let his head down thinking that maybe he had really screwed things up. “Kazuya, all of this happened because you wanted drugs.” Jin’s voice resonated inside his mind and the younger shook his head, not wanting to hear it anymore, though it kept ringing in his ears like a broken record disk. He sighed and turned to Pi who was now heading too for the car, bored of waiting Kazuya to say something.
“Drive safely, will you?” The younger shouted after him and Pi waved a hand as he slipped in the driver’s seat and turned on the engine, driving away from Kazuya.
The boy looked after the car until it disappeared from his sight before heading back to Jin’s apartment, realizing now that even if he was outside, with no one to stop him, Kazuya felt no desire or whatsoever to leave and search for his drugs. Somehow, seeing his friends beaten up and scared had made him realize that there were more important things that he had to protect and the demons from his past were paling in front of the demons from his present. Therefore, it was no need for drugs as long as he had his friends, had other reasons to live… as he had Jin too.
Somewhere in his mind, Kazuya also realized that even if Jin had been a step away from killing Koki, he made the younger realize what his priorities should be. Even if the price he had to pay had been his friend himself…
Kazuya turned on the knob and entered again Jin’s apartment, looking defeated and tired. He headed for the bedroom, knowing that he’ll find Jin there, waiting for his return. He stopped in the door frame and looked at the lying figure on the bed. He said nothing as he slowly approached the older. Kazuya let himself fall at Jin’s feet, his head falling on the mattress.
“Welcome home.” Jin said as he glanced at Kazuya, glad that the younger had come back by himself and that Jin didn’t need to use force to do it, the men waiting outside remaining on stand-by and not seen by Kazuya.
“I’m back.” Kazuya muttered with a feeble voice.
Yeah, he was back home.
