Finally...

So I finished reading DH. Finally! I actually avoided the fandom for over a month to avoid getting nailed by spoilers the way that I did when I stumbled upon a "In book 6, Dumbledore dies" icon a few days before book 6 came out.

So what did you all think? I loved it!

The epilogue was almost out of place with the rest of the book. It wouldn't have hurt to explain what happened careerwise to all the main characters who survived.

Yeah, and some mention of healing, for baby Lupin, George and the Weasleys...stuff like that.

And for heaven's sake...Albus Severus? *headdesk*

Yeah, I thought that the epilogue was... ill judged. Also, could have done without the many, many pages of them camping. That just felt like wasted pages. But when the action really got going I really enjoyed it.

I'm quite pleased with myself though, because I managed to stay on the internet but also avoid geting spoiled.

The camping didn't bother me so much because it made me feel like I was wasting my time reading it which I am sure was the point.

I can't imagine how you artfully avoided all the spoilers but props to you!

I'm not done with it yet, but I'm a little more than halfway through. I couldn't start it until 5pm on saturday because i was mega hungover...

anyway. wtf, JKR, stop killing my favorite characters! Hedwig, madeye, dobby were my top 3 fav! ARG

I'll admit I read the carpet book that was going around the internet. I'm just weak for spoilers I guess.

I thought it was good, but like most others thought the epilogue was out of place.

I was sad they killed off Dobby, he was one of my favourites. Others I felt didn't get enough time in the book that I wish had more written about them.

They needed some Dobby/Kreacher slash added before Dobby dies. That would have been entertaining.

Oh absolutely! Best line in the series.

The second best line in the book was Hermione's comment about tasting better than Crabbe.
