I am so fucking emo today.

You know, a little vicarious catharsis would really hit the spot right now.

Comment and let me know the last book you read (or, if books ain't your thang, the last movie you saw) that made you weepy, and why. And don't worry... I won't laugh at you.

Ok... I'd have to go with Brokeback Mountain as the most recent too. My long term standby movie is Braveheart though.

Hugs and best wishes for getting through it!

Gosh, I'd better go see Brokeback then.

And thanks for the hugs and well wishes. I'll have to return the favor soon.

Oh goodness, let's see, I cried reading a pizza order form last night. Everything makes me cry right now. My sister called me today to say Ty had a great doctor follow up. I hung up and sobbed.

I'm more emo than you my friend.

I'm too stressed with work to be very emo right now. Last book I read definitely had parts that had me choked up (reading at lunch at my desk, not the best place to start sobbing), that was Helen of Troy (Margaret George's latest historical memoir).

Movie, though? I haven't watched movies so much, but to hear how old I am.... PBS has been rerunning the old 80's series Anne of Green Gables. And when Matthew collapses out in the field, bringing the cows in, and won't let Anne get a doctor, but has her stay with him while he dies, yah, that's where I lose it.

I've never seen Anne of Green Gables. Was he bringing the cows in on his back or something? Tough guy! ;)

Heh. No. :-P Thanks for making fun of the scene that makes my bawl.

Seriously, though. The whole point of Anne was that Matthew and Marilla were supposed to get a boy orphan to help out Matthew with the farm because he was getting old and couldn't do all the work anymore. But the accidentally got Anne and kept her instead. So in one way, she felt responsible for his death because if she'd been a boy, he wouldn't have had to work so hard.

Incidentally, the actor that played Matthew ended up committing suicide with a shot to the head when he found out he had terminal cancer. That just makes his death scene that much more emotional. Damn. I'm getting weepy just thinking about it now.
