You know, a little vicarious catharsis would really hit the spot right now.

Comment and let me know the last book you read (or, if books ain't your thang, the last movie you saw) that made you weepy, and why. And don't worry... I won't laugh at you.

Donnie Darko ("I'm feeling kinda funny, I'm feeling kinda sad. The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had")

Rise (a documentary on krunking in LA)

Time Traveler's Wife (a book about knowing you're going to die in a more literal way than most of us know it)

Schindler's Fist (ow!)

Here you go-- it will depress the hell out of you in under six minutes, if that's what you're really after:

At least Donnie Darko can be funny, too. ("What are feces?" "Baby mice." "Aw!")

I cried the other night at "Sherry Baby," but not 'till the end...which I think is a good sign - the flick is constructed so well - and it could fuck with your emotions, but is just, well, relentless in a totally satisfying way.

A few years ago I was in a completely hormonal uproar (Had skipped a period while travelling) and found myself bawling at "Hilary and Jackie" Think the hormones had a lot to do with it.
