Fantasy TMEA Schedule - Thursday 2/11/10
So, OK, I'm not in Texas for TMEA this year. I'm back here observing a little bit of choir and mainly staying in from the bad weather and anticipating the Olympics. Can't afford TMEA every year. Evaluation class is always enjoyable. Mainly on exactly how to evaluate music performance in tests, judging rubrics, etc. - it’s a lot of information, not a high stress class, and time to talk about what exactly we’re going to do when we get in the classroom. AMEA: All kinds of music notes
Where to begin? It's conference time. So, not in school so much this week, but seeing what the Alabama state conference has to offer. It's in Tuscaloosa again. Dream of a Windshield Wiper
From the rest of this week: a group of us observed a sixth grade band class and had a discussion about it afterward. I've seen a lot of sixth grade band rehearsals, so it's pretty much the usual thing, going through the Essential Elements book. First three days of class
This year, I think, will be better than last year in music school. I already know people. The wind ensemble is huge, but our section is not. I'm second chair again - right where I expected to be.
