World Trade Center, you'll remember, has been out approximately a month now. Accordingly, we have it down to one showing a day, and at that prolly only 'cause there really haven't been any big new movies to completely knock out lingering audience. I can't believe they remade "The Wicker Man". I've also heard that "Funny Games" is being remade as well...do you know if that's true or is it a painful rumour???

It would appear to be true. Michael Haneke's doing it, at least, but with Naomi Watts.

I don't know if you could call the original Wicker Man 'heavy handed in moral'... the God-rejecting fruit-loving pagan-types (especially Christopher Lee's Evil Willy Wonka) are supposed to have your empathy just as much as the po' virgin Christian copper. Hence: tragedy.

I'm currently thinking the Christian popo was painted increasingly unsympathetically, hence the love of goth kids for that movie, but I'll give you that my memory is short of the greatest.

Regardless: "AAAAAAAAH, MY LEG!" I think the new one is inarguably funnier.

Funnier than Christopher fucking Lee? :-D I'll have to take your word on that one, I'll not be seeing the '06 Wicker Man any time soon.

Was it with Nicolas Cage and terrible remakes, anyway? I haven't seen it, but the film City Of Angels was remaking is supposed to be a masterpiece.
